Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy digital photography and spend a lot of time at the online digital photography website Flickr. In addition to photographing flowers in my organic garden, i love to shoot elements of our rich and varied past. Historical architectural elements and urban and industrial archeology are some of my favorite subjects to photograph. My interest in cultural anthropology and our human connection with the past naturally extends into the realm of geneology and a small amount of ancestor-worship. Find A Grave is a really clever website that is a great extension of my interests. I look forward to seeing what bits of my past I can uncover and helping others do so as well.

Aumack, Ackley Lots

Last week, work started on the the Aumack and Ackley Lots in the 1908 section, Lots 1 and 3. The block around the 2 lots (8 plots) has continued to shift. The block has been replaced and work will be complete this week.

See the church Twitter feed for a picture of the work in progress.

Note: The Grassman lots are directly behind it in Lots 5 and 7. Any relation?

Hello, thank you for your message. I've made the correction to the date of birth. Because he is a relative of yours, I've transferred management of Walter Humphries' memorial to you.

Matilda was my Grandmother's cousin, therefore making her my 3rd cousin. Which Gant family member do you descend from?

Annie Humphries
Annie Humphries grave is in section 2, location 403.1 in Mount Zion Cemetery.
I looked for her headstone but could not locate one. I thought you might want to have the exact location in the cemetery.

Sorry...I need new
I thought I read that you DO have the entire stone. This is just fine then. Do you remember which part of the cemetery he was in? Maybe I can get there someday and get the whole stone.

All the best,
P.S. Love the pix on your web site.

Hi Joy,
I would love the whole stone if you have it. This guy was with the 143rd PA Inf, and deserted, but he MAY have gone with another unit. I am researching him at the NARA in DC next week. I'll know more after that.

All the best,

Hi and thanks for the note! The Cemetery gate shot is auto-generated by Find A Grave and shows up on all memorials, so I can't remove it, even though I submitted it to the Cemetery main page. The only way I know of to get unlimited photo uploads is to sponsor the page. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
