I appreciate the pages created as well as all the great pictures of my family memorials on this website. Thank you to all that have added information for me or given me control of my family pages. I look forward to doing the same for the family of any of my memorial pages. Until then, I bid you peace.|
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Regan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

I never got it, Did you send it?
I am looking for the burial place of a Civil War soldier Christian Ableman. All I know about him was that he enlisted in the Union Army at the age of 42 in 1861 so he would have been born about 1819. Also he enlisted in Albany so I'm thinking he may have been related to your Ableman's
Thank for anything you might know.

Look forward to it! How cool!
Wow, what an interesting find here! I am Robert Alan Ableman; son of Robert Joseph Ableman who is tghe son of Claude Gilbert Ableman and Anna Cecilia Donahue Ableman. I notice that on my Grandpa's place, you only mention William and Tom as his children? There was also Robert, (my dad),and three or four daughters whom I don't remember the names, but certainly could find out.
The recollections of Claude is very different from the man I heard about. Now I am very keen to learn more. You can also reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or anybody with info about Claude & Anna or any of their children.
Thank you for the information on Wanda. She and my mother were friends in Spokane in the 1940s and my mother spoke of her all her life. I would so much like to contact her daughter Linda. My attempts have been unsuccessful. If you could help me with this, I would certainly appreciate it. I have photos of Linda and her mother that she has probably never seen.
I will also send an email to your yahoo email address.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thank You.I have a great interest in old photos, and because I have a lot of American relatives it is funny to “send” back old photos once sent from their ancestors to relatives in Norway. Several of these photos are unique and probably not seen before in USA:-)

|RoyC||Anna F. TAYLOR Ballard|
On your page under Anna Taylor Ballard
After 3+ years, have confirmed this is Appleton Ballard's daughter-in-law, who married Benjamin Everett Ballard. Not to be confused with Benj. sister, Anna L Ballard the doctor. A burial map is also on this page
Anna's page is here if you would like to add this link to her name
Anna was my great grand aunt.
