|Paul Rolfe||W. Lewis Castor|
I thought you may want to know Victoria Maxfield, who is buried near W. Lewis, is Victoria W. (also shown as W. Victoria) Castor in census records and apparently a sister of William Lewis. According to her marriage record, she is a daughter of Sampson L. Castor and Mary E. (Whitehead) Castor - both from Pennsylvania.

Hi, left a message last Nov. regarding the Rippetoe's, but got no reply. I'm still searching. Hoping you might have some info on Josephine's grandaughter Nancy Stover, and how I might contact her? Betty in A

I am wondering if you have any information regarding his marriage? It says on the death certificate that he was a widower.

|Gennut||John Rippetoe 1784 - 1880|
Hi Charles, I am hoping this John Rippetoe is actually in your ancestry line. In 1971 a Lex Lee Rippetoe compiled records for a Tressie Jane Huston Thomas to sumbit with her application to Dar #562864 for the patriot William Rippetoe. There was almost 100 pages of documentation submited with this application. A bit overkill in my opinion. On page 2 of the references is listed; "Copies of two original 1895 and 1897 letters to Celia Rippetoe Roberts at Pea Ridge, Ark. from her sister Emily Rippetoe Bullington's daughter, Martha B. Bullington Carr, of RFD, Cookeville, Tennessee. The letters substantiate Celia's relationship to her brothers and sisters in Cookeville community." I ordered all of the documents from DAR, however when I received them the copies of those letters were missing. I wrote to DAR explaining this, their reply was that they did not have them. They are the documentation I need to prove my Lineage to William Rippetoe the patriot. My lineage is through Sarah Rippetoe, the daughter of John and sister to Celia Rippetoe Roberts and the letters will prove this. Do you have any knowledge of these letters or who may have knowledge of them? Will deffinately appreciate any assistance you are abe to give.

Re your message below at
Find A Grave Memorial# 9075267; Created by: Jo Bohony (Inactive); Record added: Jul 09, 2004
I believe this may be Philbert Wright, Jr. son of Philburd Wright, Sr. and Elizabeth Reagan Wright. If so, he was born March 29, 1768 in rowan North Carolina and died on July 31, 1855 in Washington County, Indiana. He married Mary Molly Sears. Per f.a.g. # 16144239 by Joyce Underwood on Oct 11, 2006, he was buried at the Philbert cemetery. - Charles Robin Rauch Added: Aug. 25, 2014
You've brought an issue to light that need to be looked at [thank you for your posting]:
Philbert Wright, Jr. b. Mar 29 1768 in Rowan County, NC and died 31 Jul 1855 was not the son of Philburd Wright, Sr. and Elizabeth Reagan Wright. Philbert b. 1768 was the son of Richard Wright, Sr. and Ann [her surname is still unknown]. It is this Philbert who married Mary Molly Sears. They had 12 children 4 sons and 8 daughters.
Philbert Wright [b. 1750 and the son of Philbert Wright 1719 who was the son of the 'original' Philbert Wright of Maryland] & Elizabeth Reagan DID have a son named 'Filbert', but he would have been b. closer to 1777.
THE CONFLICT ARISES WITH THE CEMETERY NAMES Same cemetery, but two different names...
The cemetery you reference is not only named Philbert Wright Family Cemetery http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=1988061&GRid=9075267& was created by Created by: Jo Bohony (Inactive) Record added: Jul 09, 2004 Find A Grave Memorial# 9075267 [There appears to be only 4 burial sites [at least all that researchers have annotated on Find-a-Grave.] The ELI WRIGHT who is buried there IS the son of Philbert Wright, b. 1768 at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=1988061]
The memorial # by Ms. Underwood you cite is accurate is posted at this website. - The accurate information on Philbert Wright [who married Mary Sears and is the son of Richard Wright, Sr.] is here http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=87465&GRid=16144239& There are15 sites [annotated], including the Philbert Wright, b. 1768 but shown as being in the Wright Cemetery. Both pictures showing the cemetery is the same, indicating they are the same.
Totally confusing and cemetery duplication has a great need of being determined as to WHICH is correct.
I am the 3rd great-granddaughter of Richard Wright, Sr. and 2nd great-granddaughter of Richard Wright, Jr.
