Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1948 to Houston L Veal and Nellie (Belshe) Veal.

I attended 1st and 2nd grade in Fort Worth at EM Daggett Elementary School on College at Elizabeth Blvd.

I attended 3rd-12th grades in the Azle Independent School District in Azle, Texas, graduating in 1966.

I attended Tyler Jr. College for the 2 years provided. Received my diploma from TJC in 1968. I learned the art of programming a computer at TJC. I made a near 30-year career with that education. Retiring in 1996.

In the fall of 1966 I met Carol Ann Evans.
We dated for about a year, and married in December 1967. We were married for 42 1/2 very happy years. Carol died June 21, 2010 after valiantly battling stage 3A breast cancer for 8 years.
Our son, Michael Lee, was born Oct. 15, 1970 at Lyster Army Hospital on Fort Rucker, Alabama, while I was stationed there from Mar 1969 - Dec 1970.

In 2000, Carol and I moved to San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato Mexico. Carol and I made our home here together for nearly 10 years. For the foreseeable future, I will remain here in Mexico. We loved living here together. Though nothing is the same without her physical presence, I'm slowly adapting. I now tell folks, "I'll never be 100% again, but I get better everyday."

Belshe family hails Chamal, Tamaulipas Mexico (my mother); before that Greer County Okla.; before that from Locust Mound (Miller County) Missouri, before that Montecello (Wayne County) Kentucky; before that Tazwell County, Virginia and then a jump across the pond to England.

Veal family hails from Madison County Georgia; before that Virginia; before that England.

Terry Calvis Cooper
Lee: Regarding your comments about the death of Terry Calvis Cooper on Find A Grave #110321151. I have been able to download a jpg copy of his death Certificate. The cause of death as well as I can read it is: Prematurity, Premature partial separation of Placenta, Cesarean Section. The registrar used a very faint ribbon on a typewriter that used a script style of font. It is very very difficult to read. I am going to attempt to insert a copy of the JPG file into an email to your email address. Hope you will get it and I'd be interested in your thoughts. One of the differences between your thoughts and mine is that the given name is not Terry but is Jerry (perhaps named for his father?) I cannot find much about the father, Jerry Cooper. Do you have any further info on the father?? The Harrison's are an allied family of my Harris ancestors. You'll find my tree on 2013DouglasHarris Tree.
Best regards,

RE: Edwina Joyce Veal Gann
Hi Lee,

I'm so sorry to hear about all the problems you've had with your email provider! Does sound like they may have accidentally erased you! Not cool!

I'm glad you got my message, and please know I understand that things like this happen! Please don't rush yourself on our account to get everything fixed! I truly just wanted to share what info I had so you would know that your Aunt Edwina wasn't Cynthia's mother. I know when doing genealogy it's nice to have people offer up correct information when they can, makes things much easier!

I will gladly go out and take a new picture of her tombstone for you! I, myself, have seen it many times when I would go with them, and now that all my husband's immediate family has passed we take care of things. I can assure you that it's out there! I have no clue why the Wise County ppl can't find it! Odd! I do know we've had some vandalism in our county cemeteries, but unless something has happened very recently then it's still there.

Skipper, what us grandkid's called Ed, was the one who always found the plots, at Chico Cemetery, for the funeral homes. I will look around for his paperwork, and see if I can find out her plot number. If not, I will try to get ahold of someone on the Chico Cemetery Board.

I am saddened to hear that you don't have a picture of your Aunt Edwina. I assure you that I will be on the hunt for a picture of her! If I am successful at finding any, we will gladly send you the originals! Also, if I happen to come across anything that I know belongs to her that too will be sent to you!!

I'm sorry that I had to be the bearer of the bad news of them not being able to have children. I think women wonder about these things more than men...sometimes. I know I asked why, since they were married ten years, didn't they have any children, and that's when I found out about her diabetes and the physician advising them not to have children because her diabetes was too advanced for her to safely carry and give birth to a baby.

I will get you an updated picture of her tombstone, and keep you updated on any findings of pictures or belongings of your Aunt Edwina's. If you need anything at all please don't hesitate to ask! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and God bless you and yours!

Homer Belshe family
I'm Jeanne Clark Belshe's niece (my father was her brother) I never knew her, but her surviving daughter, Carol, has known me my whole life. This is the first time I've heard that Aunt Jeanne had a son. Are you sure that you have the information right?

Edwina Joyce Veal Gann
Hi Lee,
I tried to email you, but for some reason it was sent back as undeliverable. I was wanting you to know that my grandfather in law was your Aunt Edwina's husband. On her memorial page it shows my mother in law, Cynthia Jo Gann McKittrick, as their daughter. Actually this information is incorrect. Your Aunt Edwina was a diabetic and dr's advised them to never have children, and they never did. My mother in law was his stepdaughter from his second marriage to Dorothy Dean Davis Gann, but he took her in as his own after her dad abandoned the family. I wanted you to know that for the rest of my grandparents in laws lives they took care of your Aunt's tombstone, with my grandmother in law doing it even after he died in 1998. Also, I can take an updated picture of her tombstone for you if you would like, and as beneficiaries of their estate if we ever find a portrait of her I will gladly forward it to you.
God bless,
Bobbie McKittrick

Robert Belshe, Spring Garden Cemetery
We must be cousins. Robert Belshe, husband of Elizabeth Green, is my 4th great-grandfather. I descend through Robert Franklin Belshe, Mary Ann Belshe, and on down through Shirley and Harrell. How does yours go?
