Thank you for locating our family's burials and contributing to Findagrave.com.
I am related to every memorial which I offered to maintain or provide source for update. I may contact you to provide supporting details to a memorial you've added!
I am documenting more than ten years of family research and sourcing the lines for close family relationships. Why? To establish and document these lines for our family book.
Sorry about the several lengthy bio's. Will edit them out soon!

Known simply as THE JUDGE, long before the movie came out, was my maternal grandfather. Is there any way I can help ypu with your research?
|William Cole||Bates at West Andover Cem|
I think I found Reuben and Abigail but the stones are damaged (part flaked away) Next to them are two identical styled stones with the names and dates completly missing. (perhaps Dexter and Matilda?)
from Mass town and vital records:
Merrick Bates born 17 Jan 1795 in Chester, Mass
son of Reuben and Abigail Bates
Dexter Bates born 15 Sep 1797 son of Reuben and Abigail Bates.
I found, photographed and put up memorials for Reuben H (1834-1896), Mary L (1845-1893), Howard D (1868-1946) and Nellie M (1873-1937).
I am not sure of the dates you have for Reuben and Abigail. If you go to the memorial for Reuben H, I put the 1870 and 1880 census records there. They show Reuben (Merrick) alive in 1870 and Abigail alive in 1880.
1850 Andover, Ashtabula Co., Ohio
Merrick Bates 53 farmer Mass
Abigail 44 N Hampshire
Betsey 19 Ohio
Reuben 16 farmer Ohio
Mary 3 Ohio
Abigail Carpenter 23 Ohio
Dexter Bates farmer Mass
Matilda 32 N Y
I will post the photos I think are Reuben and Abigail so you can decide if they are correct. I can transfer the others to you if you want them.
|James (Jim) F. Kelly||William J Madden|
What are the dates for William J. Madden as we have two cemeteries on the west side of Cincinnati with similar names:
Saint Joseph Cemetery (sometimes referred to as OLD Saint Joseph)
Saint Joseph NEW Cemetery.
|James (Jim) F. Kelly||John Maddenþ|
First wife added.
Let me know if you would like this memorial transferred to you.

Sorry for the delay, as I recently moved and it took Comcast over 4 weeks to get my service hooked up..
thanks so much for your patience..
|An Ashland Genealogist||Henry Bates|
I have to write replies like this quite often… Sorry but I really don't have any additional Info on Henry Bates.. Signal Hill Cemetery is about 15 minutes away from my home, and for years, I've been going up there and taking gravestone pictures. Probably taken 3,000+ just from that one cemetery.. And Henry was ‘just' one of the gravestones I took…
It SOUNDS like this could be ‘your' Henry.. Perhaps IF you call the cemetery (804 643-6614) OR send them an email at: http://www.signalhillmemorialpark.com/home/contact_us.html - that they could at LEAST tell you his birthplace (Assuming they know it..)..
Hope this helps..
|James L McConaughy||Bangal Baptist Church Cemetery|
There are three Bangal Baptist Church Cemeteries; none has been used for many years. Many stones are missing and most of those remaining are illegeble. My information is from two very old lists found on the Web. I have added only the names to Find A Grave that I am reasonably sure are related to me. Elizabeth Palmer-Adsit-Sutherland is my fourth great grandmother. To the best of my knowledge, the information on her memorial is correct.

Sorry, but I did not get any updates.

There is no plain Washington in the list for Duchess county. There is a Washington Hollow, or could it be Washington CT?
