I am researching the Appleman family of Ohio and Wisconsin.
George and Margaret Appleman's 11th and last child was Phillip Appleman. Phillip married Mary Jane Ellis Lombard on June 4th 1884. She was the daughter of Matthew Ellis born Conn. and Elizabeth Ellis b NY. Marriage record Sparta, Monroe Co Wisc.
Mary Jane was previously married to Serenus Lombard of Ontario Wisc. He bought 160 acres of land in Vernon Co. 1 May 1874.
I have been searching thru Ancestry Census records to find the family of Mary Jane Ellis. She was born in NY in 1826. I found her married to a P.D.Lombard on the 1860 Bad Ax Co., Wisconsin census. He was born in Vermont. I found the Matthew Ellis family on the 1850 Wisconsin Census, Rock Co., Lima page 138 all born NY. Mary b 1836
That led to more census research and I found David Lombard and
David and Millicent's family including Serenus, Matthew and Royal.
This lead to your Find a Grave site for David Franklin Lombard.
I would like to ask permission to use David and Mathew's obituary in my Lombard family information and would encourage folks to view your Find a Grave site. I would need a contact person.
I would also like more information on the marriage of Serenus to
the Mary Ellis shown as his wife in your records. I did not know he lived in Kansas. I would be interested in learning more about him. I have not found a grave site for Serenus in Wisc.
Mary Jane is shown living with Eugene Lombard and Herman Lombard (her sons with Serenus) on the 1900 Vernon Co., Census.
