Bio Photo Even though I really enjoy researching my family history, my purpose and calling in life is to be a missionary for my Lord Jesus Christ. I serve through World Gospel Mission (Marion, Indiana) in Bolivia, South America, which has been my home since 1986. I am an ordained minister and university professor and somewhat of a writer.

I was born in Ohio, spending much of my growing up years in that state. My wife is a New Englander and our two children were born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

My interest in genealogy began when I started sifting through old papers and boxes of photos following the death of my maternal grandfather in 1979. It is a fun hobby of solving mysteries of the past and learning more about history.

I hope some of the information and photographs that I'm posting will be a help to others in their own quest to learn more about their family roots. If you think we share some common ancestry, I'll be pleased to share what I know.

RE: Pickering grave
Thanks for the reply - I sure wish that the Quaker Cemetery would give up more secrets. It's a peaceful setting & generally well kept - I've been there several times. Well more than half the graves are simply fieldstones, which unfortunately was all too common back in those days. I am in the SAR and am on the hunt for patriot's graves of that era - same deal, very hard/impossible to find. Sorry I couldn't have been more help. Gordon

I can remember his gma Dorothy talking abt being related to the Thornton's, Cremeens, Hardesty, Betz, Notter, McGuire...etc. I however, am a Watson and do lots of research on my lines... Barry, Moore, Rossiter, Watson,Harrison, etc. on my dad's side and my mother's side we have Holley, Lane/Layne, Nolan, Meadows...etc. I am out taking pics often, if there is any in my area you would like pics of just let me know and I will get them up as soon as I can. =)

RE: The DeWitt lineage
I thought this might be of interest to you...F.A.G. #83364782 Gary T Price was my Cousin on the Price/DeWitt side. His father is Kermit Price....they lived in the Mercerville, Ohio area. The family farm house was just below my home and Charles brother (to Gary) lived in it for several years. Gary and his family lived nearly next door to the farmhouse. Gary was an avid domino player....he won every game!

Re: new cemetery name
Thank you for your advice, Cousin.
I have found through the WVculture.org that Preston is buried in a family cemetery. (Name not listed). Family members say it is the Moore Cemetery. It is on private land.
I have the photos to download.
OH MY! I need to explain this:
Cremeans' and Stewart's united...then Stewart's united with Martin's...then Martin's united with Hill's...then Hill's united with DeWitt's!

I hope you and your Family is doing well. Cindi

RE: Posting to a new cemetery
Thank you, cousin (DeWitt lineage).
I have been trying to get the Cemetery name correct before adding it. I was told by family members that it is called Moore. I did not see a marker with that name on it. Several Barcus names are there and of course my/our Martin side is there.

RE: Preston Martin
Cousin Mike, I have photos taken at a cemetery up in the hills of West Virginia. I have tried to find this cemetery on F.A.G., but cant find it. Preston Martin and his second wife are buried there along with other Martins' and Barcus family. I have no idea how to download to this (not listed Cemetery), could you give me a few ideas? DeWitt lineage, Cindi.

Hi,

Those who attend the Roush Reunions always sing a song of the homeland. I have added the song to their memorials.

Hope you like it. I will continue adding informtion.
