Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Stephan Hetrick and I have been researching Hetrick families of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is a work in progress and will be updated from time to time with new information. It should be noted that there were several origins of this name in Philadelphia as well as several spelling variations.

About ten years ago, I began researching my family name in the Philadelphia area. My paternal lineage, in America, begins there. As a starting point, I used the Philadelphia 1900 Census population of Hetrick names and their variant spellings. I first validated what was known to my family, still living in Philadelphia. With that as a foundation, I began to researching family records prior to 1900.

From time to time, I help others with their research. As a result, not all the names I submit are Hetrick surnames.

Clara V. (Deardorff) Hartman's Death Date
Although Clara's tombstone says she died in 1919, I believe this is incorrect. She appears to be alive at the time of the 1920 census. Also, her obituary appears in the Gettysburg Compiler on May 7, 1921. It says she died on May 1, 1921.

Arendtsville Memorials
Another member has created a lot of duplicate memorials in the Arendtsville Cemetery. I'm notifying her as a come across each one, but I wanted you to be aware of it. Dupes are a pet peeve of mine. Often they are an honest mistake, but these seem deliberate. Have a great day.

Hetrick Family
Hi Steve,

My name is Jennifer Haas. I am researching the Hetrick family with my mom. My grandmother is Mabel Catherine Hetrick who is from Daniel Hetrick and Susanna Kramer Hetrick from the Himmel Cemetery. We are also related to the Drumheller's in the Himmel Cemetery. My grandmother told my mother that she had a great grandfather who was an American Indian. Do you have any knowledge of this. Let me know. My email is We live in Milton, PA. Thanks Jennifer
