RE: Margaret Antosh Ference
Hi. Sorry, I don't have any other information on her. When we buried my grandmother in that cemetery, I just jotted down a few other headstones that happened to be in English (not Cyrillic) and added them to this FindAGrave site. You could request a photo of the grave through FindAGrave. - Patricia

RE: Ference grave
Dawn,

Glad I could help. I'm still on the hunt for Margaret's marker...got through about 2/3 of the cemetery and the heavens opened up. I just posted a picture of another Margaret Ferrence I did locate, but the dates don't correspond to your request.

Take care,

paul

Dear Dawn,
Thank you for taking the time to do the leg work of taking a photo and then adding it to this site. Your volunteering is so appreciated.
Sincerely,
Donna

John Montour
I was amazed that they had so much information about him! I couldn't wait to share it with you.

The Quit Claim Deed was legal sized and folded over in the book; I couldn't scan all of it.

The book is an 8x11 pamphlet with white plastic spirals (about 50+ pages).

I sent you two emails (with 2 attachments) and one email (with 1 attachment of the cemetery layout). I think you should purchase this book (ha!)

I hope I did not miss any of the information about John Montour. It also notes other Montours and is very informative!

Let me know what you think?

Hi Dawn,

I have the book; on most of the gravesites there is notation about the person buried there but on John Louis Montour there is a paragraph about him. Do you have an email address that I should share this with you or do you want me to share it with you here?

San Juan Bautista Cemetery
Hello Dawn,

There is no school today so the boys and I are driving up to Florence to check out the San Juan Bautista Cemetery book from the library. I'm going to see if I can get a better picture of Louis Montour's gravestone for you. If I can't, Shirley says you are welcome to the copy at their website. Please let me know what Louis wife's name is and I will check the book for it in hopes of finding it.

RE: San Juan Baptista Cemetery
Hello Dawn,

I just wanted you to know that I have been talking to Shirley (she is one of the people who took photos of the San Juan Bautista Cemetery years ago). You can see a better picture of the John L Montour's gravestone at this website:

http://www.usgwarchives.org/co/fremont/costones/sanjuan.htm

I will ask Shirley if we can have a copy of that gravestone tomorrow.

I have also been talking to people at the Florence Library; they have a pamphlet called San Juan Bautista Cemetery that was created in 2007. It has a list of names of those buried there. The library put a hold on the book for me; I plan to drive up there on Monday.

Shirley told me this morning that she stopped off at the library and saw the book with the list of names. I may ask the library if I can make a copy of it. Shirley says they may have a copy that they might be willing to sell.

I understand this is not a widely spread book; its basically a regional book that is explicitly for Florence (and perhaps the surrounding area).

What is John (Louis) wife's first name? Maybe it is among the list of names.

I plan to stop off at the cemetery too to try to get some better photos.

San Juan Bautista Cemetery
Sorry, I accidently misspelled San Juan "Bautista" Cemetery.

I have asked FindAGrave.com to please add the cemetery streets, city, county and state to the website so others don't drive around for hours looking for it too.
