Bio Photo We are Jerry and Kristi Moore. We live in Oxford, Mississippi, home of the Ole Miss Rebels. We are members at Ancestry and we enjoy researching our family tree. Our research would be exponentially harder if it were not for sites such as Find-A-Grave. A huge Thank You to all contributing members. Because we have received so much help and assistance in our research efforts, we would like to return the favor... please email us if we can help you by taking a digital photo in or nearby the Oxford Mississippi area.

RE: Dock Nabors
Dock is the name on the marker. Reasoning is that at the time his preferred name was simply 'Dock'.

For the reason that my sister, Bessie Jane, has on her markey simply 'Janey'.

It is a strange world that we live in, as far as names are concerned. But in our own lives our preferences have changed and at times a pseudonym has more power than the birth name and it does become, in effect, the 'real' name.

A point in contention. This afternoon we spent in cemeteries with cameras looking for specific gravesstones or fragments thereof. Luckily, we had OUR records to determine specifically WHO we were looking for instead of the name actually given on Findagrave. It still took us over three hours of hard searching to find the 4 markers in question.

To the person or persons who finally look for Dock's grave marker, please let them know specifically WHO to search for. You might consider using only Dock for the Findagrave name and then in his bio, explain that he was born with a specific name and that as time went on, he came to prefer his marker name. That way it will show up properly on the photo request.

Hope this is clearer than mud by now. Have a great week coming and keep up the good work.

RE: Thanks
You're welcome. The pictures were both at the same plot. The rectangular one was at the foot of the grave. I think that is fairly common for military personnel.

Knoxville Photos
Hi Jerry and Kristi,
Glad to take the photos--only wish I could have found Charlie. Take a look at other Crowder family members added to the Knoxville Cemetery. There are three new ones.

Hi Kristi!
You are most welcome. I am happy to help whenever I can. If I can assist in the future, don't hesitate to ask. I can make it to just about any cemetery in Memphis. Take care, Sherry
