I added the photos I took today and transferred management to you. I forgot to correct the grave number. It's 124, not 1024.

RE: Transfer
Click Edit. Then click "Other additions or corrections" and request that it be transferred to you because he is your grandfather. Add your member number and send. The email address at the top is Find A Grave Support, so it so be a quick transfer.

Grandma's Girl
Giovanni Solimando
I think Giovanni Solimando might have been either my maternal grandmother's or grandfather's father's brother. I'm thinking my maternal grandfather's father, since most of the prior generation of my grandmother's family remained in Italy.

RE: DePuglia
Thanks for the note. Gaston DePuglia, I believe was her brother. He died in Redding, CA a few years ago (per SSDI). I known there are some DePuglia family living in Brookings, OR, but not sure how they may be connected to Dolores. No, don't live in NYC anymore; only lived there during childhood/elementary school years in the 1950's. Except for those 5 INCREDIBLE years in the city, have lived in magnificent California, both northern and southern for all my life.
If I make any DePuglia family connections, will let you know.

DePuglia and DiPuglia
Thanks for your note. I spent a little time w/ancestry.com and found Dolores (Delaris DiPuglia) listed in 1920 census as a "boarder" along with 5 other children! The head of the household in Teaneck, NJ is: Sidney Bearss, age 45 from FRANCE and widowed. The other children are Harry Beck (11); James Beck (9); Gaston DiPuglia (3); Delaris DuiPuglia (1 and 1/2); Mary Anderson (1); and Harry Mitchels about 6 months. I can see where a couple of the children are connected as siblings, but otherwise, what a mystery! (Perhaps they lost their parents in the 1918-1919 flu epidemic and were orphans.)

Found two different Anni DiPuglia (dau of Gaetano and Madalena)---Annie born about 1903. Also found an Annie DePuglia born quite a bit earlier married to Michili Sollamando who was about 30 years older than her; they had quite a few children.

Dolores DePuglia
Hello MaryAnn,
I saw your message about the DePuglia name. I just placed a memorial on findagrave to a wonderful lady who was a singer I knew when I was growing up in New York City in the 1950's. You might enjoy reading it. She was born in Englewood, New Jersey, so maybe she was related to your family in some way.
