Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi .. I found this site by a mutual researcher sending me the link and found it to be a GREAT asset! I enjoy doing family research so much I started collecting all records, pictures and what ever on my surname NANCE, and other variations of spelling NANCES/NANTZ/NANTS ect...

I would be glad to add to or update bio information for that individual or transfer ownership of the ones I have added
(If not my own relatives).

If I have put a flower on any NANCE/NANTZ/NANTS ect, I probably have info. to share .. ONLY ON THE NANCE SIDES. PLEASE SEND MEMORIAL # with request, I have put flowers on over 9000+ memorials. thanks :)

I get so tired of hearing people say they wont delete a duplicate memorial because.... (For whatever reason).. Per FAG rules.. "You should never deliberately create a duplicate memorial."!! THIS MEANS YOU TOO!! Even if you do have more information!! FAG has made it very easy to send in for corrections, I do it all the time.

Hey Sonia, When entering Louisa Jane Barker at above Memorial # by listing only the county along with state and USA response is " Not found ". I have to enter earlier recorded Memorial # to get there.
As for my earlier query it is not your issue as others have used this memorial as evidence for a death that I believe is in error as this lady is not the same.

Nance family
please expect a note from me in the next however many days. a pop up said it was under review to prevent negatives. Not any thing bad in it. I may have messed up by putting Celias maiden name in parenthesis in the subject line. Hello family.

Louisa Jane Barker Price
Hello I am related to Nances by way of my great grandmother the former Cora Ann Price. Heard references to uncle " Willie " Nance whom turned out to be Cora's 1/2 brother. The date you have on site corresponds to a Louisa Jane Barker buried at Axton Church with photo of stone on findagrave. Only birth year given as 1840 and not 43. Is this person one and the same ? Why stone shows Barker and not last married name of Price if it is same ? Let me know and see if we can work this out. Thanks chuck

RE: Serena
Hi Sonia:
Per a court document, Zerena "Rena" was a daughter of Allen Barker. Have you seen that? It shows where Allen's portion to Rena (deceased) was given to her children, by way of her husband Jefferson Lemons. Jefferson moved to Gasconade Co. MO not long after Rena died in 1850. I grew up in that area... Let me know what you think... Ellie

Serena "Rena" Barker Lemons
Serena (my ggg grandmother) was also the daughter of Allen and Izbell Barker. She married Jefferson Lemons and died in 1850 after having several children.

Serena and Jefferson's son, Thomas Jefferson Lemons was my gg grandfather. He married Isabel R. Smith and died shortly after 1860 in Gasconade Co. MO.. my childhood home territory. I have their rocking chair. Ellie Stites Swanger (

Thank you Sonia for your prompt reply. We never got together very much with my Dad's sister. I have a vague recollection of their having a boy and a girl. If I find anything, I will let you know. Please do the same for me.

Hi Sonia,
I am doing family research. My aunt, Margaret Ford, b 1920, married Wilbert Lee Nance, b. 1915. The 1940 census indicates they were living with Wilberts parents. They lived in the Richmond/Henrico County area. I know nothing of any children they may have had. I am trying to connect with my cousins. Perhaps you are the grand child of Wilbert and Margaret. I hope you may have some info you could share with me. Thanks, Art

James Franklin & Lillian Mae Anspach Ream
So, if James Franklin Ream is your 4th cousin-4 times removed, I guess that that means you and I are related as James Franklin & Lillian Mae Anspach Ream are my great-grandparents!

So, how are we related?

Unfortunately, due to a computer crash last August, I am no longer online. Thus, it would be best to contact me by leaving a message on my Find A Grave member page at

I'll try to get back to the library Fri. or Sat. to see if you replied. However, I can't promise that I will make it back then. Please forgive me if I am late getting back to you.
