Bio and Links
Bio Photo I currently live in Fleming Island, FL near Jacksonville, but was born in Waterloo, IA and raised in Grundy Center, IA. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. I'm married to Deborah Jean Huebner Pike and we have one daughter, Jennifer Rae Pike who lives near Dallas, TX.

I work on Pike family genealogy off and on. I am a direct descendant of the famous Robert Pike of Salem, MA at the beginning of this country. Direct descendants from my father backwards are Luverne Carl Pike, Verne Clement Pike, Joseph Lord Pike, Clement L. Pike and Gilman Pike.

I also to research on the submarine USS Squalus which sank off the coast of Portsmouth NH in 1939. They Navy was able to rescue 33 crewmen, but 26 sailors lost their lives in the flooding of the aft end of the boat. She was later raised and recommissioned USS Sailfish and had a successful career in the Pacific during WW II. My father served on the Sailfish.

K. Pike?
I notice K. Pike created a number of memorials on the Voogd family, but K. Pike's message board has been disabled. Do you know if K. Pike is any relation to Voogd's? Do you know if that person is still working with Find A Grave? Thanks!

RE: Edits
Hi David - Thanks for your reply. Yes, there will be a number next to the word "Edits" if you have any pending. Even though you don't see a number, the tab is still "clickable" for lack of a better term. There is some info. in the FAQs and on the forums. If you want to scroll through my messages, contributors Connie A. and also Bill and Elaine Schrock have included links to those parts of FAQs. I'll be posting some sort of results of this on my home page in 1-2 days. Hope you have a nice weekend. Take care.

"Edits" tab on home page
HI - I'm doing a quick survey of about 400 people on my friends list just to see how many are aware of the new "Edits" tab on their home page. If you could just shoot me back a brief response, either way that would be great. Thanks.

RE: Bradshaw Crypt
David, They are in a very dark Corridor. One set of stairs leading up to it in the middle of the corridor. There are two Sanctuaries on the East side of the corridor which also divides it. They are four tiers up and their marker is not readable from the corridor. Kathy has a better camera for those and was able to get a readable photo after several attempts. The numbering was askew so we had to take numerous shots to find theirs. It is a labor of love for the two of us. We met while graving and have become great friends. Next time I go I will take several shots of the wall they are in and the surroundings for you. It is odd as they are in a 3 person full body crypt. I think this is the only section with that size crypt floor to ceiling. James

RE: john and eva bradshaw
David, A fellow graver and I searched for the Bradshaw crypts. It took us a good 30 mins to figure out which was theirs as the hall was dark and the marker was dark. They are together in a 3 person crypt along with Maude. My friend took the photo and will post it tonight.

So glad I was able to help you with this.

RE: john and eva bradshaw
Same area, however, the entire Mausoleum had to be locked as you can get to MJ via any entrance.

RE: john and eva bradshaw
Oh I forgot, when you add the burial plot do a photo request for both so they will appear on the printout. James

RE: john and eva bradshaw
David, Add the burial plot to her memorial and put the same on his. I am going to FL Sat and will try to find them. If you add them today it will show on the printout tomorrow. I love going into the Mausoleum and it is hard to get into. Since Michael Jackson was placed there it is under high security. It pays to have good friends in odd places. LOL

David, I saw your request as "open" this morning so I posted up the headstone shot from my data base... Apparently, the other contributor let it sit too long and it expired. Happy to help out. If there are others at this cemetery, let me know as I have all but 3 rows shot, inputing as time allows..

RE: Photo Request
Thanks David for the link. It's very interesting and humbling to reflect on the lives of each person who served on this boat - especially the ones who passed in 1939. Amazing the read their stories. Thanks again. Steve
