|Kim Woodyard||Moses B. Hurley|
Hi, does anyone have more information on Moses's Dad John H. Hurley? Moses is my 3x's Great Grandfather. Plus any info on 3x's Great Grandma Elizabeth Ann Newcom?
|Jessica Coleman||Downs Family|
I am currently researching the Downs family and I am a bit stumped and was hoping you could help me.
I am trying to trace the family of Euple Downs Duncan (1908-1989). I have been trying to locate her parents and for the longest time, I was unlucky. I finally located a 1920 census record for "Eupal Downs" who was 11, which matches the Euple I am seeking info on.
After locating more censuses, I am certain the parents of Euple Downs Duncan is William S Downs and Allie Shaw.
Now, here is my problem. Everything from the birth years of William and Allie to the name of the siblings match (including that of Delmus Downs, one of the profiles you manage), but I am finding another daughter for this couple. A daughter named Euvle Downs Wyatt (1916-2006).
Euple and Euvle are VERY close to being the same name. At first I thought they were the same person, but could they be sisters?
Any information you can give me would be very appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Hello, I just started making a family tree and it turns our Moses B Hurley is my great great grandfather as well (on my fathers side). Guess were somehow cousins, however many times removed!

Oh, and btw, it looks like you and me are 3rd cousins! Cool!
|Michael Cotton||Thomas and Margaret Brennan|
Dear Ms. McKinney Downs:
Thomas and Margaret Brennan are my 2nd Great Grandparents.
They had a daughter, Winnie, born around 1871 in Illinois, who married Lorenzo T. Cotton in Lamasco, KY.
Lorenzo and Winnie are my Great Grandparents.
They had a son, Leonard C. Cotton, born in 1902, who moved to Mississippi before 1930 and married Dolly (Dorothy) and they are my Grandparents.
Their son, Bill D. Cotton is my Father.
I have only recently begun tracing my Cotton ancestors and I know very little about the Brennans yet.
I am on ancestry.com, and my username is njsimca79. My email is email@example.com and I am more than happy to share what I do know.
Michael D. Cotton

|David Goodaker||Edward Hyde|
My Great Grandfather was "Ned" Hyde. He was married to Emma Retta Oliver. I believe this Edward to be the same person. What can you tell me about the linage of Edward and his other wives? I am a descendent from his youngest child Bertha Bell Hyde (who married Floyd James Wilson). She passed away in 1981. She is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Her sister, Lucille Hyde, is also there. She married Joe Morrison. They didn't have any children. Bertha had 10 children. My mom is the 5th child.
Do you think that Everett Hyde (12/1884)who is a "boarder" (farm hand ?) with Wm. H. and Sarah B. McCarty at Eddyville, Ky. Lyon Co. is a son of Edward Hyde and Mary A. Manning (1862) Hyde?
To me it looks pretty reasonable and if so, then there would have been 6 children including Janie Hyde if I have got all this computed correctly and this happens to be another child.
Just thinking out loud. For my research it is not important but if I can help out I like to do so. I am at firstname.lastname@example.org

|Searchin||Rebecca McCaslin Hyde|
My main interest is with Martin's (helping my cousin) but Martin's intermarried with Hyde's and I came across Edward. I have a suggestion for you to look at and possibly rethink your research if necessary. Also, I am willing to go off-line and discess at email@example.com
I think that Rebecca J. McCaslin was b. circa 1844 in Caldwell Co., Ky. to James (1800) and Mary (1805) McCaslin per 1850 census. In 1860, she is a domestic in the household of J. Stevens and Polly Ann Stevens.
She married Edward Hyde on 11 March 1866 in Caldwell Co. It shows "Mrs." but I doubt that. I think they divorced quickly because she married Drury K. Stevens (related to J. Stevens ????) on 1 September 1866 in Caldwell Co., Ky.
At the time of marriage, Drury may have been an overseer for Philip and Susan Guise per 1860 census.
In 1870, D.K. and R. J. Stevens have 3 children and are in the 1870 census for Caldwell Co., Ky. One child was b. 1865 so who knows who the father was or maybe that date is incorrect.
I really do not think that Rebecca McCaslin married Edward Martin on 11 March 1886. I think it happened 20 yrs. prior and was Edward's first marriage.
I also cannot find any record of his name being James.
I may have more on Edward later but if so I will post separtly. I welcome any questions about what I am proposing. Just send to address I have given above.
