Thank you so much. This has added so much useful information to the tree I'm working on.

Web sites
Wanted to also say thank you for the websites you listed. I have been able to build a great deal about my Peurifoy family in the low country from the Press and Standard records. Have tried for several years to get Ambassador Peurifoy a new bio and recognition as famous.

Thank you for searching Jackson Creek Baptist Church for her marker. You mentioned using grandkids to help with the search...what a great idea! I have grandbabies right now but when they get older I will have them tag along with me...what a great way to introduce and share my love for genealogy!!

link requests
adding links
Find A Grave will post edits for you when the owners wont, or don't. Here's how you do it:

1.create a 'rule' in your mailbox to place all Find A Grave edit messages in a special folder (name it Find A Grave edit requests, or anything you like)
the 'rule' is set to capture the header link of the email which you copy into the rule.
to get the header - just copy it from your 1st email copy. don't include the person's name - just the area with Find A Grave info.

2. click on the edit link on the memorial & send a message to the memorial owner with the requested edits.

3. be sure and select the 'send me a copy of this message' link above the edit box.

4. the copy of the link request will automatically go to the special inbox you created.

5. wait a few weeks (I usually wait 1 month)

6. after a month (or so) open up your special request mailbox.

7. start with the oldest message and work forward until you are about 2 weeks from today's date. (Find A Grave likes it is you wait 30 days, but it
is not a hard and fast rule)
8. open up the oldest message. It will contain a link to the memorial that you need edited or linked, and also the message that you sent.

9 Click on the memorial link. If the owner posted the edits you wanted - simply click and delete the email.

10. if the owner did NOT add the edits, simply click on 'Forward' email and enter the address:

add a brief message, like 'owner did not post edits' please add them for me. thanks.'

click on SEND

leave the message in you special inbox. The next time that you review this folder (in about a month or so) these message will be the oldest.
click on the link to the memorial and 'le voila' your edits are posted.

I also follow this process for duplicates - changing it to Please Merge records
usually the next time you click on the link you get a Merged Memorial message.

Find A Grave has posted thousands of links, bios, etc for me when the owners would not.

RE: Franklin Davis Ulmer
Gary Wills and I have been friends(F.A.G.) over the years, but have never met as he lives in the Houston area. I just wanted you to know that he is very ill. I've most likely sent him 3 or 4 emails in the last six months that he has never replied to. He did want me to take over the Rose Hill Cemetery listings that he put in and of course, I said yes. This just never happened. I'll try again to get in touch with him and will get back to you if I hear anything.

Franklin Davis Ulmer
Hi Lawrence -

The reason I'm writing is to see if you received a notice from F.A.G. on fulfilling your request on Franklin Ulmer. I've been having a lot of trouble from F.a.G NOT notifying me me when any of my requests have been fulfilled. Would appreciate hearing from you if you received a notice from F.A.G.

Delance L. Herndon
Hi! Thank you for adding this memorial, i truly appreciate it. However, I noticed that you have Delance's birth date listed as September 14, 1886. He was actually born August 14, 1884.
Thanks again! :)
