Your Conf. Soldiers Buried in AL
This is such a nice remembrance for our soldiers. Thank you. I am a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and this is a treasure trove for me.

David, thank you for adding my gr grandfather to your Confederates Buried in AL virtual cemetery. And so promptly!

I intended to say that I wish Find A Grave, not Ancestry, allowed searching on these virtual cemeteries. I cannot now remember how I stumbled across your list, and the info is very valuable.

Hi David---what a great virtual cemetery you created! I wish Ancestry allowed searching on the list. This indicates a great deal of time and effort on your part, and it is very much appreciated.

Would you consider adding my gr grandfather? Here's the info:

Reuben Cecil Johnston, 1834-1906, buried at Middleton Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery/adjoins Oak Bowery Baptist Church Cemetery) in Calhoun Co, AL--Mustered in Co. D, Hundley's Regiment, which subsequently became Co. E, 31st Regiment, Alabama Infantry.

Find A Grave Memorial# 17213501.

Thank you very much.

Alden Howell
Capt Alden Howell really should be put in the famous part of this cemetery. After all you had it quoted perfectly at the bottom of the memorial. The message read and I quote
"Died. Captain Alden G. Howell, 106, who rode to war 86 years ago, saw Stonewall Jackson shot, lived to be the last surviving Confederate officer, oldest Mason in the U.S.; in Los Angeles."
If that isn't deserving of fame then I don't know what is. When he died they even did a small write up of him in Times Magazine.
So I really hope you consider and change this to a famous status. After all a Presidential Chaffuer for President John F. Kennedy has a famous status and all he did was drive a car. Capt Alden Howell deserves better.
