Bio and Links
Bio Photo My father came from western(Jefferson Co)PA via the Navy to Norfolk,VA during WW2; met my mother(yeh! those Southern gals finally licked those Yankee boys-of course Daddy said he wanted to get away from those deep snows!)
They moved to Corpus Christi TX, where the witches and bats brought me one Halloween morning, the first of their 7 kids. The Navy moved us from TX,to VA,to CA and back to TX(last time was in Kingsville--go Brahmas!)almost every 2-3 years and we only called Tidewater VA 'home' because most of Mama's family were still here--the Navy just didn't seem to have a base in Reynoldsville PA for some reason.
Both of my Crawford grand-parents died before my folks married and the last time I visited the Beechwoods in Jefferson County PA,I was about 7;so there isn't much I remember...I only recently found out that there was a French/German gg-mother(MaryAmandaRishelle)in this Scots/Irish(Calhoun,Hetrick,Smith,Tuner)family stew!! Thanks in part to Find A Grave...That's OK;because my husband has been trying to tract down his recently found(no one told him about any Leprechauns!)Irish side(Watchorn)who married into the Needham's and Wrights(anyone from Purple Valley Canada out there?),and his Finnish Grandmother's Mattson side from Republic, Michigan. And they married into the Pennsylvania French/German Boyer's from Jay County, Indiana...How everyone finally got together from such diverse backgrounds still amazes the 2 of us...
My mother's family of Talley's, Whitlock's, Sweeney's, Martin's, Heath's, Tyler's, Baskett's and Waters' came from Virginia's 'burned counties', of King William, Hanover, Henrico, and New Kent; and the Gethsemane Church yard has a lot of her family resting there.
I ended up going to Shenandoah Jr College(now I really feel my age-the place has been a university for a while now)in Wincester,VA where I met my future husband in my second year..a Music Ed Major;also a Navy brat.. Ironicaly, we now live less than 3 miles from the area we both lived/went to school here in Va Beach--but never met until we went off to college.
I have worked 22 plus years on midnight shift at a local Hospital ER; and sleep days; when the weather is nice, if we have the same days off; some times we will take trips to a cemetery in the area--
Update, Summer of 2015; thanks to Find A Grave's Request section, I happened to see someone asking for a picture of their loved one buried just across the street from us.
While I can't 'claim' the request on the stone; because the Jones Memorial Park is not mapped out as orderly as some may be used to--(but I am having a fun, hot time looking for that stone. If the heat and the thunderstorms don't get me; the mosquitoes surely will;-)..Serendipitously I was able to get this person in contact some living family here just in time for their Summer reunion.
If anyone that belongs to Find A Grave happens to see my name on anything attached to the Jones Memorial Park and would like to have management transferred to them...I will be tickled to so; just add Find A Grave into the subject line, thanks....

RE: GeorgeAmbrose Family

the auto edits is still sent to the person managing the memorial and they just approve and it is quick with most contributors. I will process any i get several times a day.

I know about ho it is finding odd things that happened in the past, my dad got married after his wife died since he had 2 kids and he was working at allisons he married some woman, well after 2 months while my dad was at work and the kids at school this woman cleaned the house out of everything and when dad come home the 2 kids was setting on the floor.

Some odd things can be uncovered for sure.

Hi Edna,

I will do the links for you! You can also try the new auto edit and you can add the links, dates and places and marriages etc.

I am so glad I was able to get the picture for his memorial, It is odd when folks are left out of obituarys and records, It does make you wonder huh.

I can do some checking to see what I can find for them.

If you need anything added just send it to me and i will add it.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend

Thank you, Edna!!! Yes, he probably did want you to find him. He was a jokester too, in the best way! Kept us laughing all the time. He is sorely missed! Thanks for taking the time to photograph this for us. Our family appreciates it so very much! Blessings to you and the work you are doing for families. :-)

Thanks!! If you come into the cemetery, you turn to the right at the caretaker house and go along the road by the main highway, not even half way down. From what I can picture it is not too far down and about 5 or six rows in from the road. The other Lues are his parents, Rex F. Lue, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Lue and a brother that died as an infant that was also a Rex F. Lue,Jr.

Thanks for helping us out!

RE: Turner Stone
You are very welcome. I originally made the trip to re-photograph my great-grandmother's stone in the cemetery. I figured that I might as well see if there were any requests for it. That cemetery was originally called "Falls Creek Cemetery" back in the day from what I understand. Unless you know the area, it's not that easy to find.
Take Care!

RE: Orsi Family
Hi Edna,
Thanks for contacting me. After Linda died I met Thom and we have been together since then. I wanted to do his family tree so Amber and now her baby girl, Abigail would know there distant family. I would appreciate anything you would like to share.
