Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please forgive me for my lengthy absence. I have been battling Stage 3 kidney disease along with 2 other serious illnesses.

I understand your frustration with the corrections you have requested and I am working on those corrections. Again, I apologize for your inconvenience.

I became interested in my family's history when my grandmother began telling me stories about things that happened while she was growing up in Indian Territory.
I have been researching my family's history for about 8 years now and I am still pretty much a novice but I'm learning a lot from each person I come in contact with through my research. I would love to learn new techniques for gaining information. I learned a very hard lesson with Ancestry.com so I don't join sites that force you to pay to view information before you know whether it will benefit your research.
Until my health is better, my husband and my mother are helping me with the photo requests in this area.
I love this site but I'm not crazy about the forums. I try to remain positive about all things and it may be just me but the few times I've been on there were not pleasant. Life is way too short for such negativity so I don't visit the forums very often.
You can always leave me a message here or email me privately.

Mary J Davis (Duffield)
I am also a granddaughter of Mary and James Davis on my father's side. My great great grandmother was their daughter Bessie Davis who married my gg grandfather French Hoover.
Anyway I was wondering if you had any idea who Mary's parents were.
I found a couple of names but still not sure.
What I have is as follows:
John S Duffield (1852-1922) and
Melcina Strange (1836-1905)Melcina was married before to Martin Van Buren Riffle.

Still not quite sure if this all fits though.
Would like your input.

Thanks

Your Welcome! I wish the picture was a bit easier to read. I am (hopefully) going back to the cemetery to finish the other half. I will see if I can get a clearer pic than that one but it is quite weathered.

family phots
I would like to thank you for posting the photos of the Sheets family. My grandfather, Brice Sheets, has never seen photos of his grandfather Solomon P. Sheets until now.
I really appreciate all your time, hard work and your generous spirit in sharing all of this information.

It appears that I did not take a photo of the plaque and it is unlikely that I'll be returning to Ada anytime in the near feature. I do not reside in Oklahoma. Sorry that my report is not any better than that.

RE: Riley A Vaughan and Lillian Vaughan
Hi Teresa,
Sure I could transfer his memorial to you...but, before I do...
may I ask your relationship? We must be some variety of cousins. Perhaps we can share information regarding their family and any information you might have on Lillian (Smith) Vaughan, Uriah Robert Smith or his father, Robert Cade Smith.
I have been working on my family tree for the past few years and Uriah Robert Smith is my Grandfather's (Archibald Greenville Smith) brother. At this point, Robert Cade Smith is my brick wall...I have not figured out who his parents are.
Please let me know...I am willing to share what I have found, so far.
Regards,
D Couey

Miller graves
Hello - I don't see my grandparents listed, they are Samuel and Donna Miller. I know they are buried there because I have the original cemetery deeds for their graves. Can you please check on this for me, Samuel died in 1935 and Donna in 1945. The deed for Samuel says "One grave space in Miller corner lot 1 in block 68" and "recorded in cemetery deed record page 121". The deed for Donna says "2nd space in north west corner lot 1 in block 68" and" recorded in cemetery deed record page 174". thank you for any help!!
