Bio and Links
Bio Photo I remember as a child hearing my Aunt Clark talk about her family's history. She knew all her cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. And she did her best to document her family legacy, and to share it with anyone who would listen. I would like to think that she'd be proud that my wife and I are carrying the torch, and trying to fill in some of the blanks. I think Clarkie would be fascinated with all of the tools we have available in the modern world. But it is still the disparate branches of the family scattered here and there that bring it all together anyway, whatever the technology, be it pen and paper or laptops.

I actively research these family names: Speer, Wardlaw, Link, Cheatham, McGaw, Paul, Matthews, Calhoun, Robertson, Oliver, Giles, Lyon, Brough, Ammons and many others I have yet to discover.

I will gladly assist and share information with whoever I can help in their genealogy quests.

I'd also like to say that everyone I have encountered in the find-a-grave community has been very helpful, supportive and willing to help in documenting our common legacies. Let's keep working at this together - who knows where it will lead us.

Hi! I've just started doing research on my son-in-law's side of the family, and his dad told me that Will Speer, son of John Alexander, is his Gr-gr-grandfather.

Right now, I don't even know what questions that I might would like to have answers for, but it appears that you might have the answers!!

I thank you for sharing so much information on Find a Grave!! We all so much appreciate it!

I would ask if there were any more who served during the Civil War in the family line, as I see that William did.

Hello. Could you answer a question for me, please.
John Talbert Cheatham, Jr. has a son named John T. Cheatham, buried in Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery. Is his middle name also Talbert, which would make him a III? Thanks for your time an consideration, regards.

Thank you for all the information you have posted on the Speer family in this cemetery. You must me a descendant! William Speer and Eleanor Little are my 4th great grandparents. My great grandmother was Mary Floride Speer Milner, wife of George Wimberly Cotton Milner and daughter of James Milton Speer and Mary America Speed. Your Speer information matches what has been handed down through the generations. Is there a Speer Family Association? Thanks again.

Morning Barry,

As I thought, you are a descendant. Wonderful information which you have posted on the family.

My interest lies with wife Elizabeth Paul. I am a descendant of one of her sisters, Nancy.
Would love to see the (possible?)pic of Elizabeth.

Have you located the parents? Feel free to email me directly.
Thank you, L.F. Randell
