Thanks so much - from your pic, found a person that wasn't on the cem list and was able to add her too. You rock - or is more appropriate to say - You stone!

RE: Oakland
Yes, I got started in this when I responded to a pic request and emailed Sonja. Then I got the idea to ask if I could have the records to put onto the site and she emailed me the map and the records. I've been slowly adding records and taking pics of the area.

So far, Bonniwell is completely done, uploaded, doublechecked with added info from Sonja's spreadsheets and pics added. Schmidt's isn't done except for the two rows that share the 'road made'section and those already online. I've got most of C, except for the rows it shares with B and section D, E, and F need the very last row.

If there's a type of stone you prefer, the old or the newer flat (like D, E, and F) that you you'd like to pic, please take one :0)

If you'd like, I can let you know when another section has been added or if I finish photog'in a section (hoping to run over sometime this long weekend). Or, if you'd like, just let me know what areas you'd like to photog. Thanks so much for any help!!! This is quite a project!! So far, it's been incredible to see the requests for pics once a person has been added - it should give lots of people a starting point for McLeod county, at least that's my hope.

Thanks for you efforts with Ferdinand and Potter's Field. Also, a big thanks with Mr. Adams' final resting place in the Schmidt addition. You've been such a great help with all of the requests this week! If you see any accounts without pics that you'd like to add a pic to, feel free! I'm working on adding all of the interred on FindAGrave so people can search all of Oakland to see if their family is buried there. So far, all of Schmidt, C, D, E, F, Potter's Field, and Bonniwell (bonni has been photographed too) is currently online. My goal is to get all of the interred online before Oct. 1st. Again, many, many thanks for fulfilling all of the requests this week! You're a cemetery angel!

The little ones
Thank you for securing the memories of the 'little ones' from Potter's Field in Oakland. The large 'field' photo gives a sublte way of remembering their final resting places. Others that had the old lime/in concrete were so skillfully captured as well. Someday, someone will want to know about these little ones that may not have made a single census or family record and you'll have provided them with that one record proving the 'little ones' were here. Again, many thanks for your help in documenting these special stones and places.
