As someone who likes to get outdoors and enjoy photography I find taking these pictures very relaxing and interesting. I've taken over 10,000 grave stone pictures and my goal is to try to photograph all the cemeteries in Shiawassee County. So far I have pics from about 20 cemeteries and have completed about 6 cemeteries.|
I enjoy creating the memorials but if you are related and I'm not then by all means I will transfer upon your request.
If anybody would like to use one of my photos for other research or postings by all means you have permission.

Thank you so much for the photo of the stone for Lloyd and Helen Johnson. I have saved it to my family pics and documents and unlike so many people, I also added it to Ancestry "WITH" your name as being the photographer. Lloyd was born in Arkansas, so it has taken time to find he moved to Michigan and is buried in this cemetery. Thanks again so much.

Hi Gene - This is another and I simply cannot do more. I am doing less and less
My Grandmother Irene was the eldest sister of Michael Prokopenko, who is the little baby boy buried in Pine Tree Cemetery in Corruna, Shiawassee, Mi and whom you have a photo listed for.
The id# you have listed is:
Record added: Nov 22, 2011
Find A Grave Memorial# 80823392
The date of death is incorrect for Michael on that cross. I have his death certificate and his correct date of death is 22 July 1921 and cause of death is "Meningitis" The red cross had been maintained by George Prokopenko, the eldest son of "Jim" Timofei Prokopenko and his wife Mary, and for some reason George got the years mixed up. George placed this cross there before his death in 1987.
I have just had a headstone made for Michael and his baby sister Violet who was buried at the head of his grave on 8 Dec 1924. She was stillborn and was born early from a fall her mother Mary (Zaharchenko) Prokopenko had in the last month of her pregnancy.
If you wish to place this photo on your site and take down the old one that is incorrect, the family would very much appreciate it. Please contact me and I would be most happy to send you the photo.

I put through a suggestion to remove Cattaraugus as Elizabeth's place of birth. You may live near there and know more than I (I am not from the region), but my research shows the village wasn't incorporated until the late 19th century, and the town (Albion) wasn't settled until 1818. Accordingly, it seems implausible that Elizabeth could have been born there in 1799.
