Sharp Graves
Tom:

John Sharp (1755-1817) and Martha (1765-1849/1850)are my 4th great-grandparents. I am currently trying to document a family history to pass on to my children and grandchildren. I appreciate your posting the picture/s of Martha's grave.

Is the cave a fact or another "I think"? Do we know for a fact that John and his wife stayed there? What years? Wasn't John's mailing address in 1810 in Lincoln Co., TN? While I understand that the two counties are within spitting distance travel was slower and more difficult in 1800.

Is there a "trusted" source of information on this family? My gleanings from the forums and family trees I've found seem to lean toward the "I think" type rather than based on documented fact i.e. public records, family bible/s, etc.

Richard

Sharp
I believe my husband's family is connected to John and Martha Sharp. If I have it right the line would be:
John and Martha Sharp
William P and Margaret Jane Woodard Sharp
Andrew J. W. and Missouri Clementine Deskins Sharp
Mary Molly Sharp and William Jesse Upton
Audry Cecil Upton and Ellis Blythe
Margaret Aline Blythe and Thomas W. Taylor
These last are his grandparents.
I am not sure if all are correct just trying to piece together families I found on Ancestry.com. Some have no proof so hard for me to tell if I am right. I think our Mary Molly is the daughter of Andrew and Clementine. Did find a daughter for them in the 1880 census that was the right age as our Mary that was the wife of William Jesse Upton.
