I have been doing genealogy for also 10 years now I just love and it love helping others with their research as well. I'm from Canada living in Toronto.

I and can access the Toronto Pages of the Past and the Globe and Mail early papers to help search for obits for anyone looking for obits. I also have the transcript for St. John's Norway Cemetery and St. John's Cemetery on the Humber, if anyone needs a lookup.

St. John' transcript
Hello Donna I was wondering if you could look up a few names for me in the transcript. William and Sarah Ann SHACKLETON, and James and Annie WATSON, as well as Ellen WATSON I could do just plot numbers and go there myself. Do you have a map of the cemetery showing where each area is?

Thanks so much
Debbie

RE: Photo Requests for St. john norway
i was over there in November before it got really cold. knocked off 8 requests. i usually just jump on the subway from etobicoke.

I been lucky almost 300 request and only 1 rude gentleman. But you are right St. john's is one of the hardest to get plot locations from. Why i have no done much request there. Mount Pleasant Cemetery head office assigned a person to help me get plots and maps for all their cemeteries it has help a lot. for example Find A Grave Memorial# 69331594 they send me maps and a complete list of who is buried there. I just come to the conclusion that st. johns office is just lazy and unprofessional. if they prefer to do things through email totally fine with that, but don't blow people off and make them wait every two months. lol of well it does get worse, knox church cemetery in againcourt called the cops on me for taking photo's there, tried to get me arrested for trespassing. all they had to was ask me to leave and i would of. Which cops told them as well, never went back.

here is my email: shannonislington@gmail.com and i will forward what they sent me. have a great night.

Photo Requests for St. john norway
Hi many of the photo requests you mark as errors i have maps, location and etc for form the cemetery office sent me fro st. johns norway.

Right now i am swamped with photo requests from downtown cemeteries like mount pleasant and the west side. And the fact this winter seems like it will never end. I might get out to the east side 2 - 3 times a year. if you want to do it, i will forward you all the info. Take them into the office with you and they will have a ground keeper help you find them. thanks.

Saint Joins Norway Cemetery
Hi Donna,
I am looking for some help in locating the burial location for my GGG Grandmother. The death information that I found states that Alice Ann Dobson nee Butterfield died July 6, 1917 in York Township and was buried in St. Johns. Could this be the correct cemetery? I am having trouble finding information online. Also, you stated that you were willing to do obit look-ups, is this one too old for you to check on?

Thanks,
Lynn

RE: William Phillip #101175844
Okay, I needed a break from my ancestors so I did a quick look around ancestry.com. On a tree I found someone listed William (d. 1941) as "Wellington William Phillips" with "William and Ann" as his parents (and a whole bunch of kids).

I found Wellington listed on census for 1871, 1881, 1901, 1911, and 1921. Birth years ranged from 1865 to 1870, all in Ontario.

In the 1901 census it lists the following household members:
William Phillipps 81
Nancey Phillipps 60
Hester Good 39
Wellington Philliph 30

Wellington is single through the 1911 census then in 1921 it says widowed.

Might be worth taking a look. :-)
