Martha England
Hi Cindy,
I am Myrtle Catherine England's granddaughter. We had Martha's maiden name down as Shannon. Her parents were James Houston Shannon & Lucendia Edmiston. I have genealogy going farther back. You have a different maiden name for her. We also had father of Joseph Ferrell England as Relaford England with wife Elizabeth. We have a copy of a letter that William Shannon wrote to his brother John during the Civil War. Also have old pictures of Joseph and Martha, his brother Charles and wife Lucy Ragsdale. We have the one that is already on here as well.

Just wondering where that maiden name came from?

R L England 1850-1936 GAR Cem Miami Ottawa Co OK
I am trying to find info on R. L. England (Robert Loge "Saganissa or Logenissa" - Cherokee name? - England, 1850-1936) who is buried in Miami, OK. He named a son William Wilson England, so I think R L is probably a brother of the William W. England who m Kalvia James. I know R L married a Cherokee woman who was either first married to a Morris - had Horra N. Morris ca 1880 - then William W (1884), John Anna, Samuel, & Susan Lee England (married a Doty). His Cherokee wife died between 1891 and 1900 sometime, as in 1900 he's listed as widowed. Getting long here - sorry! Do you know anything else about R L England?
