I am researching my North Louisiana grandparents' surnames: MAY, MCBROOM, PLUNKETT, and ROWELL. Please let me know if you have any information to add to my memorials.
Also, you are welcome to use any of my pictures. | |

 | McBroom You are quite welcome. That is one BIG cemetery. I have never been there before and thought maybe they did not allow photos, so instead of stopping by the office, I walked and walked and just happened to "find" them by sheer luck. :-)Added by Sheila on May 01, 2013 8:42 PM | | | John Cummings

 | RE: Tombstone picture You're very welcome. It was my pleasure. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you in the Pierce, King or Thurston counties of WA. And yes, you would have a long drive from Fairfax VA (which is where my husband is from).
Have a great day.

 | RE: Albert Louis May Doug I finished Professor May's obituary on Find A Grave, if you want to check it out. His wife was Velma Wood and they had a son, Dr. A.L. May Jr., USN surgeon. I think that Velma was born May 24, 1893 and died May 1989. I'll check with Southern Memorial Park and get an image of her grave marker and obit-later! Thanks for sharing about his parents. auRayvoirAdded by raoul on Apr 16, 2013 6:24 PM | | | Patty Shreve
 | Harriett May As it turns out, I did photograph Harriett - it was just listed as H Amanda. It will be posted momentarily. Greetings to Fairfax - my husband was born and raised in Falls Church and we lived there for a number of years. | | | bob hampton
 | RE: MAY family tombstone pictures Thank you | | | Lisa E. May Axtell
 | julia amerson Hi Doug:
I believe we've talked before. My name is Lisa May Axtell. I've been a May family researcher for several years. I believe a fellow researcher that lives is Washington County, GA has found an error with Julia. We do not believe Julia was Julia Lucenda May, daughter of LJ and Emily Cato May now at all. She is not in the 1870 census with her parents. She is also not mentioned as a heir in LJ's estate in 1900 (when she was still living). William T. Amerson married a Julia Bridges, so maybe this is who is buried at the cemetery.
She also found that Martha Ann May, daughter of LJ and Emily May was married to a Willian Amerson. She died in 1874, making her the mother of Andrew Jackson Amerson, not Julia, who he didn't marry until around 1876-1878.
I understand he also married Dicie Elizabeth May, which was also the daughter of LJ and Emily May. That much I do know!
I'm going to do some research to find out HOW I got Julia down as one of the children and will need to make corrections as well. Just wanted to know your thoughts on this and see if you have source material that states Julia was LJ and Emily's daughter. Thanks!
