|I was born and raised in Sycamore, Illinois. My folks were Leland O. Hansen and Merle F. Rohde Hansen.|
I retired a couple of years ago and have spent part of my retirement trying to put together our family tree.
My paternal side of the family - Hansen and Jacobsen/Rasmussen are of Danish heritage, although the Hansens were from the Schleswig-Holstein area which was held by the Germans for some time.
The maternal side is Rohde and Mattern. Mattern in turn is Mattern and Patzschke. As far as I have been able to determine these families all came from Prussia (Germany), but I haven't had much success finding their roots in Germany.
I found this web site while I've been working at the LDS family History center. They have been "talking it up" quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. I have been adding my family's info in hopes that I can stumble across more of the family who might be doing the same thing.

Ooops...Betty and James aren't brother/sister, but are they related?

I think I finished all your corrections. If I missed something please let me know.
If Betty Richardson and James Morris both have the same mother does that mean they were brother/sister (half)?

I just linked James Morris to his mother Maymie Blue Shively. Confusing family. Is Maymie's maiden name "Shivley" and she married a "Morris" first and then a "Richardson"? And is Sue Richardson Morris the spouse of James Morris? And is Sue related to Maymie, too?
I have also added some bio's and photos to the family.
