|I got started in genealogy in 2006, just after my father passed away. |
I am enjoying being a photo volunteer... and it's great exercise!

|chcobe||your photo request-Edward Pedigo|
I have been trying to find this cemetery for you for a long time. I didn't know where it was located. This cemetery is in Metcalfe County, not Barren. I also found this information about it:
"X.PEDIGO-NEVILLE-GENIE GLASS: 1977. Abt 0-.1 mile S of Randolph on the same road as above on the old Genie Glass farm. All oral - cemetery no longer there. Pedigo, Neville, Wilson, Morris." On this website:
I am sorry to learn that the cemetery is no longer there.

We were out in the Astoria Cemetery yesterday and we fulfilled your photo request for Daniel Haffner.
Also we added a photo for Dianah Lutz Haffner even though there was no request for it.
but I wanted to let you know that on the front of Daniel and Dianah's headstone it says mother and father. and behind the headstone is the following Haffner's.
Edna C. Haffner b: 1852 d: 1875
William F. Haffner b:1851 d:1937
Martha Haffner b: 1856 d: 1940
and there is a Bessie H. Wright buried next to Martha Haffner with the same kind of headstone thought maybe she was a Haffner before marriage or was a wife of one of the Haffner's. or with the birth date maybe be a granddaughter of Daniel and Dianah's but married a Wright. here is her info.
Bessie H. Wright b: 1886 d: 1957
on the headstone of Daniel and Dianah it says for him.
died Aug. 4 1886
aged 71yrs. 9ms. 3dys.
on Dianah's is says:
wife of D. Haffner
died Nov 12 1889
aged 67yrs. 10ms. 26dys.
I am about an hour away from this cemetery so if you put in a photo request for it I will never get it in my emails.
So, if you want I can email the photo's to you so you can post them if you want or you can put on the memorials for them and then I can go back in and add the photo's to your memorials.
Which ever way don't matter to me just let me know.

Wow! Thank you so much! He is not my family member, but in the course of learning about Johnson's Ranch in Wheatland, I learned a lot about the Donner Party ... and then I met a kind woman from the historical society there in SJB who told me about this descendant of the Breens.
So thank you very, very much for adding this person to the Find A Grave site!

This photo request was fulfilled in an amazingly short amount of time. Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you so much.
I did find a phone number for the people who manage the cemetery, but I think I will leave it alone for awhile. It is kind of far for me, although I am happy to go just about anywhere to help.
I have seen that some folks here enjoy put memorials online ... I do too ... but I LOVE taking the requested pictures.
Thanks again for your reply.

Thanks, Tamara, for all the photos. As usual, you were so fast and you go above and beyond. The photos are great, and I really appreciate all the help you have given me.
Thanks for the photos of the two Benjamin Knight's, when I was much younger, in High School actually we used to park in this cemetery after the movies, of course wasn't interested in genealogy then...
