I enjoy reading old tombstones and researching my families' history- doubled because I was adopted. I think Findagrave is an awesome way to memorialize those we love! This is a tremendous genealogy resource.

USAAF 1st Lt. Jerrold E. Owens
This message relates to your interest, documented in the findagrave website, in your late cousin Lt. Jerrold E. Owens, son of Wyatt Hamilton Owens and Maudie Koontz Owens. As I informed your cousin Judy Meador Sanders of Davis, Oklahoma and Lt. Owen's sister, Theopa Sheen of Sequim, Washington, the wreckage of Lt. Owens' aircraft was discovered this past fall in northeast India by Clayton Kuhles, a businessman from Prescott, Arizona. His photographs of the wreckage are posted on his website The Defense Department has an obligation to recover the remains of all servicemen killed in action, but unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen soon in this case unless the families of this aircraft, the
B-24 "Pregnant Swan", put pressure on the Defense Department through the press and their congressional representatives.

Mr. Kuhles also found the crash site of my uncle's B-24 "Hot as Hell" in the same area, back in 2006. All of the crew of that aircraft perished as well, and their remains have yet to be recovered, even though the precise location of the crash site has been known to the Defense Department for almost 2.5 years.
