I am a grandson of William Ben Dowless (1894-1960). |
I was born in 1943 in Abbottsburg, Bladen County, North Carolina. I now live in Monroe, NC.
Please contact me for additions or corrections to anything I have posted on find a Grave.
Family surnames are Dowless & Walters. Mostly in Bladen County, NC.
See my Virtual Cemetery "The William Ben Dowless Family" to see the memorials to his wife, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that I have been able to locate. I would appreciate any additions you could make to these efforts.

My name is Angie Wells, grandaughter of Josephine "Kitten" Conner. I came across this tonight and saw some pics of Great Grands I have never seen before. Thanks for sharing.

Your welcome any time. If you got any more in lumberton or bladenboro let me know and I will see what I can do. I sent you the memorial for Josephine Connor's Husband Roy Lee Connor Sr.

This is Cory Mercer from North Carolina. I am just checking to see how you are doing. Got any new information on the family? Email me at email@example.com
|Henry Ray||John Daniel Dowless and Addie Elizabeth Jackson?|
If I have my family tree correct, you & I are 3rd cousins.
I believe your ancestor J.D. Dowless is John Daniel Dowless, who was married to Addie Elizabeth Jackson.
Addie's parents were George Washington Jackson & Mary (Freeman?), who are one set of my Great-Great-Grandparents, & if I am correct, they are yours as well.
What are your thoughts? Have you ever linked your family to Jacksons?

You are most welcome.
The military need more recognition than I can ever give them especially the Vietnam War era Vets. This is our way of giving something back.
I thank you for your service and help in honoring these brave soldiers.

I did not know him, I was just respecting his service. Thank you for the sponsorship.
