I'm with you whenever you tell my story,
for I am all that I have done.
Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me in your memory
Remember me.
~~Josh Groban~~

Our findagrave activity stemmed from my love of genealogy, photography and old gravestones, strengthened when we saw the damage one year of weather does to an older stone that cannot stand the test of time well. We believe everyone deserves to be remembered, beyond plain, cold statistics, and document as much as we are able, especially as we travel. This is a wondrous site where the upcoming generations can easily find their history and ancestors. Even after we are gone, our work will remain. Thank you, Findagrave.

We are all simply the guardians of those we have kindly added until their family comes along. I am eager to transfer anyone who is not family to family. People with kind, sincere words make my day.

I take my heritage, 'graving' and documentation very seriously and most respectfully. Accuracy is of the most utmost importance to me, not who 'owns' a memorial. If I have made an error, please, please, let me know, politely. Cooperation is the entire point of this site. I now understand why people leave Findagrave. If you are rude, I will ignore you.

** I spend over half my time on Findagrave JUST sending edits to admin for duplicates, not documenting cemeteries any more. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE double check before you add a historical person from the 1600's or back. Nine times out of ten, they have already been added.

** PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the FAQ concerning BURIALS UNKNOWN. They are to be used for RECENT deaths only, not your 176th great grandfather whose burial is 'not located yet.'

**If you will not honor an update sent in by another volunteer, you are doing the memorial, AND the hard work of the volunteers a real injustice, not to mention the Findagrave admins who now have to do YOUR WORK. If you don't want to do updates, give your memorials to someone who will, PLEASE.

**Do not use my photos without permission, and ask BEFORE you use them. Simple, reasonable. And, if your pictures are crooked, poor quality, out of focus, too dark to read, taken at night, shadowed, or the stone is covered in dirt or weeds, or your finger was in front of the lens, I will add my photo on the memorial. Sorry. Please have the respect to post only decent, well thought out photos.

**USE THE MEMORIAL EDIT/SUGGESTION OPTION ON THE MEMORIAL you want updated for updates requests, transfer requests, general inquiries ANY memorial. I will IGNORE AND DELETE suggestions, requests and updates and inquiries left HERE or in EMAIL, as they are REPEATEDLY, DESPITE THIS stupidly bold NOTICE.

RE: Isabel de Plantagenet

Yes, I understand that. But how do you know one source is better than the other? I am currently looking for local courses to become a professional genealogist. You mentioned a couple of Books, but how do you know they are any better than any other book, is it just from experience or is there a place to go. Unfortunately this form doesn't allow you to do anything but put dates in, I had assumed you would check them. I saw you didn't have dates, I had some so shared them and it's ok if they weren't good, I never know. I try to trust when I see it in more than one place but right now, that's all I have. As I said I do have the Burke books, but who says they are the bible??? That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Don't be sorry, it's why I do this, to try to get to the better answers. I try not to assume but there are so many sources and who do you believe until you (if ever) can verify.

I have Burkes as well, I will look into that too, maybe they have better answers.

Ok, I will check your sources and defer to you. My dates were suggestions from what I found and it looks like you have better resources. Thank you

Mostly a combination of several places where her birth is 1308 and one with her death. If you have other info I'd love to have it.

Hi Anne - Yes, I am related. I'm a third cousin, once removed of Corwin Radcliffe. I am also a first cousin, 3X removed of Rebecca Jane Hibben who married Franklin Corwin. And you ?

RE: Anne Shurtleff Stevens
I appreciate you forwarding the email.

I wanted more info about my Great Grandparent as I know nothing about by Sonora Grandparents even.

From her Bio it sounded like the family was very involved with local history (her dad being involved with the Historical Society. And her being involved with Genealogy.

I was hoping to find someone that would be able to suggest local Sonora place/ links to find out about my relatives. I live 9000 miles away and will never get to the Sonora area.

Personally I donít understand the Contributors attitude about getting as many Memorials as possible, only managing their Ancestors Memorials. And why a contributor would manage Memorials if they arenít going to help people with.

I guess I have been blessed that the only people that contact me are Ancestorís I haveít met. Ever is learning and some more than others.
