I enjoy walking cemeteries and taking photos of the stones, especially the older ones. Hopefully my memorials/photos will help someone with their family genealogy.|
I most likely have made mistakes so if you find any, or duplicates, please send me an email with info. and I will be more than happy to correct. If you have additional information I will gladly add to what I already have. I also will be more than happy to transfer ownership of a close family member. Most memorials will have an 'Edit' tab on the upper right side of the memorial. Click on the 'Edit' tab, then click on the 'Suggest a correction' link on the Edit page. Follow the instructions to submit your correction. An email will be sent to the contributor who manages the memorial page........."
"Be sure to include a link to the memorial record that needs to be corrected, as well as any information about the record that needs to be corrected or added, such as the individual's full name, birth/death dates, cemetery name and location, father, mother or spouse's memorial ID # to be linked to, etc."
Please DO NOT 'take' my pictures for your use or anyone else's. As a courtesy, please ask.

Hi JMB, I noticed that you have the spelling of this gentleman's last name incorrect. Or is it? As I do work on my family tree, I have seen my last name spelled that way on various census records. I have noticed several grave markers there at Thornrose with the last name spelled with an A. From what I have found, that is the way my ancestors spelled their name, prior to coming over here from Scotland in the late 1600s. The letter A was changed to a U before they got off the boat. I also have a great uncle Guy who was born just about the same time as this gentleman, but is supposed to be buried in Blacksburg. How cornfusing!

Hello, I was recently in Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton, Virginia. I posted a picture of this lady's marker to your memorial. Her correct date of birth and death are legible in the photo I posted. Thought you might like to know.

Is there a way to download a memorial with bio, family, etc to Ancestry.com?
Does Findagrave allow that?
If so, how do I do it?

Thanks for your kindness, I appreciate the transfer of my White family member. Grandmother Harman was daughter of George W. White from Bridgewater, Va.
