Bio and Links
Bio Photo I first became interested in genealogy when my grandmother, Rubye Mae Steele Brooks began to research the family tree and told me about the interesting things she was finding. This was before the internet, so she was doing a lot of travelling and letter writing. I started gathering stories from my other grandparents and eventually started seriously researching. My brother, Randy, (RTB) told me about Find A Grave and it was a beautiful extension of my genealogy research. I have come across others with a lot more information than I have and am grateful for all the people out there who are willing to put info and pictures from all the graveyards and memorial gardens around the country. Thank you all.
If you would like to take ownership of any memorial I have submitted, just let me know. I have added many memorials just based on the fact that I have relatives in the same cemetery. I am pleased when I am contacted by someone who knew of or cared for a person for whom I have established a memorial. I hope they all are found by someone who cares. I will transfer them gladly if I am not related.
Take care,
Sherry Perry
I stole the following from Gennaphyr, but I wholeheartedly agree!
I grant anyone the right to use my photos for any purpose, without any conditions. As the copyright holder of my photos, I release them into the public domain.
However, if you don't see my name under the photo then that photo does not belong to me and you will need to contact that individual Find a Grave member for permission to use their photo.
You don't need to kiss my foot for a transfer. I love being able to transfer memorials I have created to family and friends (to me that is a Find A Grave success story)

Thanks for your help and no, I am not related - was just doing some genealogy for a friend. A transfer isn't necessary.
Thanks anyway, Sincerely, Catie and Will

Josiah Owen
Josiah is my 2nd great grandfather. He is buried in the Owen Family Cemetery in Henry County, Tennessee. I posted his grave picture for off related to see. The cemetery is fenced in but in need of some attention. Several headstones are damaged or fallen. The family apparently had money as the headstones are carved marble.

How are you related to Josiah? I live in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee and travel to McKenzie, Tennessee the last Saturday of June for a Dinkins/Owen reunion held annually. My grandfather is Albert Clifford Dinkins and grandmother Bertha Lee Owen Dinkins. Mother is their 13th and only remaining living child, Betty Joy Dinkins Floyd.

Best wishes Cuz,

John David Floyd
