On October 20, 2007, 100 youth and their adult leaders from the Pittsburgh North Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met at the Mars Cemetery. Together they transcribed and photographed most of the cemetery monuments. They hope their efforts will help those who who are searching for their ancestors. If you wish to contact our coordinator, send an email to email@example.com|
Plot numbers are our creation since we could not procure a cemetery map and the markings in the cemetery were confusing for us. If you would like an email with a cemetery layout map please email our coordinator above.

Are you doing the Edits for the memorials listed? thanks kindly for reply,happy trails
|Michael Cannon||Paul and Mabel Besnecker|
Paul and Mabel are my great great uncle and aunt. I've tried to have information added to their memorials through the edit tab, but to no avail. Also the e-mail I sent got bounced. Can I possibly have these transferred to me, so I can make the necessary additions and connections.
Are you still actively maintaining the memorials you added to F-A-G?

The dates are wrong. Joshua Stoolfier's tombstone actually says:
Birth: Mar. 23, 1779
Death: Aug. 30, 1851
Aged 72 years, 5 months & 6 days.

I have searched many, many years for my 2nd great grandfather's (Amos Hildebrand)date of death and burial place. I can't thank you enough for this wonderful contribution to Genealogy Resources. Without it I probably would never have located that information. I also was able to locate his wife, Sarah from your census of this Pennsylvania cemetery. I live in California and it's a bit of a commute to the Mars Cemetery from here! :-)
Thank You So Much
Wonderful project. I allowed me to locate stones on my family. Thank you to everyone that worked on the project. To bad another group won't work some of the other cemeteries.

The McCannons on this site are a cousin of mine and I have started contributing to this site. If you would like to transfer ownership of these, I will take them on, answer questions about their history and post what I do have on their ancestry.

Thanks for your kind words.
Your project sounds great! Wish more groups would do this and we could cover ALL the cemeteries.
