I have been active in genealogy research for several years now. My primary areas of research are the McKay, McNeill, McAllister (McAlester), Wilson, and related families of Cumberland and Harnett County, North Carolina and the Fallin and Ashburn families of Stokes and Surry County, North Carolina. I am also very interested in the War Between the States and am an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (Lorenzo Leigh Bennitt Camp #773, Durham, NC).|
You are welcome to use any photos I have taken for non-commerical purposes but you must properly attribute them to: Brent Fallin (FindAGrave# 46946719).

Good Morning, Brent,
Thank you so much for the wonderful information you provided! I am so grateful to receive all of this and will print it and put it in my family file.
I am preparing to make application for membership in the DAR and Colonel Alexander McAllister is the Patriot I descend from. You and I have many of the same ancestors and you have done a tremendous job in your research.
My great grandfather is Robert Edward Lee Green, son of John Green & Flora Catharine McLean of Harnett County, NC.
I would be ever so grateful if you would share with me your photos of the headstones that you indicated are more legible than the ones posted on F-a-G. If they are posted on your Ancestry.com family tree, I can "save" them from there; otherwise, my email address is: email@example.com and needless to say, I will credit you with the photo and date you took them.
Congratulations on being in Grad School! So proud of you! Where are you in school? I hope you are getting a Masters in History & Research!
Thanks again for all the info. I hope I can visit this cemetery at some point in time.

Can you provide an address for the location of the McAlester Family Cemetery in Buies Creek, NC?
Have you tried to transcribe the stones located in the Cemetery?
There are several photos from the Cemetery on Ancestry.com; however none of them are transcribed nor is the name of the cemetery even given...frustrating!
Is Buies Creek considered a 'community' located in the city limits of Lillington or is it an incorporated city/town in itself?
Thanks for any help you can give, Brett,
Karen Milner Freeman

I'm helping a friend research her Hartsfield family and read your message for Sgt Henry Applewhite Hartsfield. I'm hoping you can help me with a small piece of information?? You stated he was hospitalized for a fever at a hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina and when I put that information into my friend's tree, I was given the option for two different counties, Guildford and Randolph. Would you possibly know which county the hospital was in? I would hazard a guess that was where he probably died the way it's wrote and I'm trying to add the information.

Hi Brent, That's odd, the edit is under my pending edits and it won't let me send another one, because of the first edit. The death date is Dec. 1912. No day or location was given.
