RE: Wilford Harris Gragg
Hello Janine,
There is a lot of information on the internet. I don't go with the paid sites because the information they have was some I submitted. I go with the Rottsweb.com or Familysearch.org. they are managed by the Latter day Saints. A lot of it is submitted by others.
I am pretty sure that our Gragg family was Irish but they may have not been in Ireland for very long. They may have come from Scotland or England but I am going with Scotland from MacGregor.
That is where I am now, just trying to find info on them in Ireland or Scotland since they were Presbyterian and came to America with the Rev. William Martin ships to S.C and other ports in the U.S. If the ones on the ship are our ancestors then they signed a letter of appreciation and signed their names Greg. At least John and William did. There were other Greg family members, Jane, Mary, and Ninian.
I'm going to keep searching in Ireland until I find them there or in Scotland.

Wilford Harris Gragg
Hello Janine,
I don't know if I sent you the response to your post about William Cain Columbus Gragg. He was the son of John Gragg and Jane Gladney and the brother to my GG grandfather, John W. Gragg. John W. is buried in the old Salem Cemetary in Tipton co. and William Cain and wife are buried in the New Salem cemetary in Shelby co. Martha Jane Tibbs took my uncle Zane Gragg and me to both cemetaries. Also, I met a descendent of William Cain Columbus Gragg who came all the way from Arizona to see me and to search cemetaries in and around Memphis. Also some of William C.C. Gragg's children settled in the area that I live in which is Greene co, Ar. My great grandparents settled in the Macey community just north of Monette, Ar. which is in Craighead co.
John Gragg Sr. was the son of William Gragg born 1743 Hopefully in Ireland. That is where I am looking now. There were so many Greggs at the time William was born but I do believe William was born in Northern Ireland. On the ships list Wm. and John Greg signed their names so I think they may have gone by Greg instead of Greg. I found some of that family in and around Belfast as ship merchants.

John J. Sandifer
Please let us know if there is verification of John J Sandifer's burial at the Obed Magee Cemetery. Is there an identifiable gravemarker?

We also, have a gravemarker for John J Sandifer(d. 3 Jan 1869), son of Peter Sandifer, Jr in Dallas County, TX. This would place his death shortly after his family mover from Pike County.

Is it possible that his wife Nancy (Morgan) Sandifer died in Pike County prior to the families move to Texas?

Let us know if you are able to shed further light on this inquiry.
