RE: Keyes
Hi Sharon,

My name is Michael Devlin. I'm related to Clarence William Keyes/Keys too. I'm researching the my Kyes linage. I have senn Keys spelled numerous different ways but I'm very very sure I'm related to Clarence William Keys. I have a lot of documentation from early 1800's. Clarence is descendant from Isaac Keys & Lucinda Sampson. I have documention in a biography in a obiturary & probate records proving along with other obituraries that Clarence is descendant from Isaac. Isaac is one of the brothers of my Ancester James Harvey Keys. I'm trying to find the Grandparents of John Keys James Harvey Keys William Tolliver Keys, Isaac Keys & Samuel Keys Jr. & Pheobe C. Keys who married George Hadly Finch. I would like to share information with living family members if interested. Samuel Keys & Mary Champ is far back as I can prove well except for Mary Champ's linage who is daughter of Sargent Major John Champe (Champ) from Revolutionary war who tried to capture Benedict Arnold for General George Washington. I have doumentation and I'm willing to share what I have.
Please contact me if you are interesed in our Keys family History.

Thanks,

Michael Devlin

RE: Keyes
Hi Sharon G.,

Clarence William Keys never married did he ? I sent you a forwarded email that is a picture of Clarence William's parents, Issac Keys & Lucinda Soloman. I know Issac also had a son named George Keyes/Keys and grandson Franis Keys. I have two living decendant contacts of Issac Keys. I also shared with them the John Champe information. They did not know they were descendant from him either. They are very happy I contacted them with the information. Samuel Keyes born 1780's ? died for sure without a shoudow of a doubt in 1844 in Warren County, Indiana. His wife Mary Champe also died there. Samuel had an estate & mentions all of his children including Issac Keys. I believe it might be indexed under spelling of Kee's. I have seen for sure several different spellings of our Keys line. I'm descendant from Issac Emerson Keys brother, James Harvey Keys. When James died in 1898, he had an obiturary in Fennimore, Grant, Wisconsin. It specifically says that Issac of Fennimore Grant County, Wisconsin is his brother. Also there is more proof. When Samuel Sr. died James recieved guardianship of his siblings including Pheobe Caroline who was 18 at the time. I have copies of Samuel's estate & of the probate records for guardianship. Issac is also mentioned in the probate records. Look in the 1850 census for Warren and or Benton County, Indiana, for James H. Keyes, you will also find Issac living with older brother James. James was born in 1823 in Franklin County, Ohio. Samuel Keys & Mary Champ were married in 1820 in Chilicothe, Ross County, Ohio. I also have a copy of that marriage which was done by the Justice of the Peace. One more proof is that our Samuel married Mary Champ is in John Champe's widow's pension application for him it mentions Mary Champ as being married to Samuel Keys. Mary Champ's sister Amelia married William Keys who I believe to be Samuel's brother or cousin. William and Amelia only had one son before she died. They named him Issac K. Keyes. Amelia died in 1833 in Ohio. Samuel's & Mary is also mentioned in the book Soilders and Sailors of 1776.

Keyes
Hi Sharon,

My name is Mike Devlin. I'm distantly related to Velmas husband and I'm sort of very knowledgeable of the Keyes/Keys line which so far I can trace to Samuel Keys & Mary Champ, daughter of Sargent Major John Champe from revalutionary war ( Tried to capture benedict Arnold for General George Washington ) & Pheobe Susan Barnard. I have much infomation on my Keys line. Velma's huband is descendant from Isacc Keys of Fennimore, Grant County, Wisconsin. Isacc died there in 1902. Without a showdow of doubt Isacc is one of five boys and one girl. I have much information and sources or documentation. Are you related to Velma or her husband. I would love to share information if you are interested.

Bye,

Mike Devlin
