Hi Deena - The reference to Barbara's father being a Texas Ranger was in the obit. So that information would have come from whoever wrote the obituary for her.
I leave the obits pretty much as they are written, omitting the service information and maybe putting them in better chronological order.
You should be able to get the obit online or from the El Paso Public Library. You can then check with the funeral home to inquire about who provided the obituary info.

You raise an interesting question and hopefully I may have an answer. I found the Death Certificate for Arthur Curry and it lists the place of burial as in Paducah so I'm pretty sure this is correct. The DC also shows that he died died in Crosby County which might explain the confusion. I also found him listed in the Crosbyton Cemetery but no exact location given so I wouldn't put much stock into this information. I've been known to be wrong before but I'm pretty sure about this information.
