Your Pauli family (found some burials in Watertown, Jefferson WI) is very likely a branch of my PAULI / PAULY family that descended from the immigrant Joseph PAULY / PAULI who came from Ripsdorf (Blankenheim area) of the Eifel region of the Nordheim Westfalen. Joseph came in 1852 and is the uncle of my great grandmother Anna Helena Magdalena PAULY who was born 1856 Ripsdorf to Barbara KLINKHAMMER and Johann PAULY. Johann PAULY's brother was the said Joseph PAULI.
When my great grandmother Anna Helena Magdalena PAULY and her husband of a year (mar 1882 Blankenheim) Johann Joseph WILMS (Williams in America) immigrated on the SS Gellert from Hamburg via LeHavre, they brought their infant son Heinrich Joseph WILMS with them. He is my grandfather. They settled in Glen Haven, Grant Co WI ..and lived near Magdalena's uncle, the said Joseph PAULY. Joseph and wife Anna Catherina MATHES had a son Thomas b 1859 who married Anna KLINKHAMMER in Glen Haven. (I have the marriage record). This family left WI and crossed the river to Guttenberg IA before 1898...the year that Magdalena and Joh Jos WILMS / WILLIAMS and their children also moved to Guttenberg. Joh Jos WILMS was a church painter and gilder who painted several of the Miss River churches, including in Cassville WI and St Mary's in Guttenberg. (I visited it and have an original picture of the interior).
I tracked Thomas Pauli and wife Anna Klinkhammer into the Dakotas and Montana. I've tracked down descendants and a 4th cousin on the line actually lives in TN near me. Thomas and Anna's son Leo PAULI / PAULY is one of their sons who returned to Wisconsin to live...to Watertown, Jefferson Co.
