Bio and Links
Bio Photo My grandmother got me started in genealogy before I was 10 showing me photos of all sorts of ancestors and telling me stories about them. I have worked seriously on genealogy for about 30 years, even going back to college and earning a bachelor degree in history. I have much knowledge about the South, Alabama in particular. I don't live in the South but would be happy to help where I can.

When you find a photograph on a memorial, look to see who submitted it and give them credit for the photo if you download it. ALL photos have the name of the submitter associated with the photos. Look below the photo for "Added By:" Some require you to get permission first. Check the submitter's home page for instruction by clicking on the name of the person who added the photo.

You may use my photos as long as you give me credit and you are in no way profiting from them.

Temperance Letcher
I have added her at the top in the 2 places you mentioned, down below, i noted her existance prior to the listing of the 10 children listed in the Letcher Book, of which Temperance was not listed. Very much appreciate your alertness... Thank You, Mike White

RE: Alice Galbraith
I think you meant Talbot for Alice M. Talbot , mother of Alice Galbraith, which already has the maiden name added. I am not seeing a newspaper article on either of the memorials? I am missing something? Thanks Pat

Alice Galbraith
Hi again. You have requested the middle name of Talbot be added to Alice's memorial. I am unable to locate any reference to that name. Please let me know the source which I hope to verify so that I can add it. Thanks, Pat

Galbraith Twins
I think the are done now. I ended up naming the boy on the girl's memorial and vise versa. However here are their memorials if you would like to see them.

Clayton Galbraith

Alice E. Galbraith

Thanks, Pat

Thank you so much! A couple of us volunteers try to keep an eye on memorials placed in Mt. Olive Cemetery on FindaGrave. At one time there were quite a few that really belonged in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Lawrence County.

By adding in about the death certificate, this will save another volunteer from looking Mr. Garside up. For some reason he isn't in the county transcription book.

Thank you so much for helping him find his way "home"!!

Hi – Thank you for adding the memorial and newspaper death notice for Benjamin F. FENNELL (died 1915). I am wondering if you are kin to him in some way? I found that his grave has only an adult-sized brick ledger with no inscription, and I have confirmed his Confederate service (actually in Company E of the 48th Georgia Regiment), so he is eligible to receive a grave marker from the Veterans Administration for his military service. I intend to apply for one (I have obtained several VA grave markers for local individuals in the past), but the application will need to be authorized by someone who is kin to him – however, it doesn’t matter how distant or require documentation. If you are not kin, are you aware of someone who is that I might be able to contact? Thanks again - John

Thanks for your time and diligence toward improving this memorial by adding Jeptha's first name. It is much appreciated.
