Captain William Hasson
Dear Mr. Hann:

Thank you ever so much for generously sharing and gracing our memorial page of Captain William Hasson on the findagrave.com site with such a great photo of Captain Hasson. Not only is it a sharp picture of the Captain in his military dress uniform, it's autographed by Captain Hasson, himself!

This will mean so much to so many, now and for many generations to come, who are trying to keep our heritage alive.

Captain Hasson gave so much to Oil City, so much more than most of the area's residents realize. We don't believe that we shall ever see the likes of this hero ever again.

We tried very hard to insure that Captain Hasson's generous deeds to his community not be forgotten, and now, thanks to your generosity, people now and for generations to come, have a face to apply to this highly honored name.

Again sir, we thank you.

God Bless You.

Sincerely,

Karen and Stephen J. Snyder

Capt. Francis Bierwirth # 11078380
Scott,

Can you please make a notation to your image of Capt. Bierwirth indicating that the image had once hung in the Office of the Mayor of Egg Harbor City, but has been entrusted to the Egg Harbor City Historical Society's Roundhouse Museum since 1993.

Thank you.

RE: Pvt. Abial J. W. Abbott, 4th RI Killed at the battle of Antietam
Hi Scott,
That is very cool! I'm afraid I don't have any further info for you about Pvt. Abbott...I was at Antietam that day photographing the Rhode Island plot at the National Cemetery. Besides the National Archives & the Warwick Historical Society, here are 2 other places that *might* be able to offer some help

Rhode Island Historical Society Library

http://www.rihs.org/libraryhome.htm

Rhode Island Sons of Union Veterans

http://armorydoor.tripod.com/

And if you have a good deal of info you can add to his memorial here, the person who added him is no longer an active contributor. You could try sending an email (include link to memorial & link to your contributor page & an explanation of what you have to add) to edit AT findagrave.com They would add the info & possibly even transfer the memorial to you.
Hope that helps some...good luck :)

Capt George Brooks
Hi,
I've been searching for a photograph of Capt Brooks and just came across the one you have posted on here. Is his name written on the back of the photograph you posted? I'm wondering if it's actually him because on his regiment's muster rolls he's described as having "sandy" hair.

Please, if you know anything about this photo, let me know. I'm researching the 46th and would greatly appreciate hearing from you!

Thanks,
Meredith Myers
