RE: Wesley EMPIE
Hi, Sorry to disappoint but I was working off of the 1979 transcript of Section 8.

The only additional information I have in my notes is a brief newspaper report "Mrs. Jane Hastings died very suddenly at the residence of her son-in-law, Silas Ferguson, Saturday night." Because the memorial was already set up I didn't go any farther. Sharon

These are my grandparents. I'd be interested in managing this page if you'd be open to that. Please let me know.

You're most welcome, Daryl. I'd looked for her before and couldn't find her. Her marker is broken, on the ground and was partially covered. I photographed all the readable markers in Smith and John was not among them.

Daryl, I believe we're sailing in the same ship together :) I don't have to watch a mystery movie, I can go on Ancestry and be filled with mystery all day. Did you find a birth, baptism certificate, or death? I noticed with some of my Ancestors a couple of them signed there fathers death certificate or that they were present at that time. He was born in the United states any thing from there? I am still checking around a few sites for you if I find anything I will let you know. PiperJd

Have you been on Ancestry? People on Ancestry are spelling it the same way has you are. I see a private member put this (Varnum aka Vernon German) then one spells it Vernum. Majority spell it Varnum, Not sure if you know this but I see some people have his middle name has Spencer. If you click the photo it makes it bigger, From what I can see the photo is either Ternum or Terhum, Ternom. Let me know if you need anymore help. Curious what do you think it looks like?

Hello Daryl, Your very welcome, I am glad I was able to help you out. I was looking at the spelling too and It is definitely different, I looked on Ancestry and it's the same first name spelling has you have and there is a photo of the same gravestone but taken by someone else. I looked at it carefully when I was there, making sure it was the right stone. I have had many surprises from my ancestors with there first names and last names even birthdays spelled differently sometimes. I often wonder who made the mistakes our ancestors or the people who wrote the info down back then. PiperJd :)

RE: John Alvin BOYD
Good morning Daryl,

My apologies for the sideways photo (I'm not sure why the preview displayed that way). I've removed that photo and uploaded a different one that I took. It appears to be displaying properly. I've also added the back side of the stone.

I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to your tribute to Mr. Boyd. You've created a lovely memorial.

RE: Vining Cemetery photos
Hi Daryl
It was my pleasure. And not a lot of trouble at all. The cemetery is not big at all and your whole Vining clan is buried within feet of each other. Look closely at all the gravestones. If they look the same, it's because they are. A lot of names are found on the backs of all the stones.
I hope it is helpful.
If you are in Kitchener, I may ask for your help. My wife's family is from the Kitchener area and a lot of them are buried in that area.

Van Buren
Dear Daryl,

Cornelius Van Buren was my eighth great grandfather. (I'm a bit older) I would love to compare notes and stories. My personal website is I was born and raised in Little Falls, NY so many of the locations and sites are familiar to me. I hope for a response and some sharing of data.

Best Regards,

Nadine (Dee) Van Buren Quinn
