RE: Margaret Lewis' picture
I hope by now you went ahead and copied the photo of Margaret Lynn Lewis. My profile on here got messed up and I wasn't able to edit anything until today!

There seems to be some controversy about the photo of our ancestor, but I choose to go with the general opinion that the painting is, in fact, Margaret Lynn Lewis. I also found another pic of her....http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=lewis&GSfn=margaret&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=48&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=8881775&df=all&

RE: Margaret Lewis' picture
Sure - it's public domain as far as I know.

I'm interested in how your family is related - so am I. I know there are lots of descendants, but it's always fun to get to know new 'kin folks'.

RE: John Lewis' headstone
Hi there, Nice to hear from you. My wife and I visited Staunton, and John Lewis's grave last summer. It's just out of town. Can't find our directions, right now, but if we may have your e-mail address, will keep looking. Also, the historical society in Staunton has directions, and a lot of information, which you may copy. Also, an awful lot of information on the web, about John, and his son, Gen. Andrew Lewis with George Washington, during the Rev. War. Have you read the things about Andrew and the battle of Point Pleasant? Really interesting. Also, a mnument to John in Gypsy Hill Park in Staunton.Have a nice day, and hope this helps. William Ashley

RE: Grandfather an Grandmoter's photo
Hi Fred,
I did feel bad about Marion's memorial stone. I did not have any tools to clean up her stone. All I had was a snow brush (that stays in the car all the time - I'm still in Michigan). I would have liked to have the stone cleaned better. I do not know whether the cemetery grounds keepers have to upkeep all of the stones. Anyway, you're very welcome. I was glad to help you out.
Julie
