Bio and Links
Bio Photo The life of a person is more than the dash between two dates. It is my hope that the memorials which I create or manage can make the individuals life fuller, even if just linking to family members or adding a few tidbits of information. Researching and including other family information makes them more than graves, they are people. Suggestions are welcome but please submit them using the edit button at the upper right corner of each memorial.
I live in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina and work primarily in cemeteries there and the North Carolina Piedmont. Even when transcribing cemeteries I work hard to link other family members.
PLEASE DO NOT POST DEATH CERTIFICATES ON MY MEMORIALS.
PLEASE DO NOT POST OBITUARY PICTURES, THEY ARE COPYRIGHTED.

My family can be traced back 46 generations to County Leichester, England. The family is English/Norman. They came to England with William after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The spelling of my name is the most rare of the three family groups: Purefoy, Purifoy and Peurifoy. The early Purefoys were in Jamestown, VA long before the Hugonaut movement. On my paternal side I am interested in the Peurifoy, Purifoy, Purefoy, Scott and Suther families.
For my maternal side are Statons, Stiller's,and Moores (from Stanley Co, NC).
My wife is from the Byrd and Carr families of Duplin County, NC.
You are invited to visit the memorials of my grandmother Lillian Scott Peurifoy
and Father Robert Eugene Peurifoy.

Thanks to all who help with my typo, mistakes and incorrect links. I could not accomplish this without your help.

Your Message on Veterans
Thanks for such a nice message! JR is a 400-day veteran of Vietnam (66-68), and Patty worked for DoD/VA all but 5 of 43 years service! We lost a son-in-law to friendly fire in Afghanistan, and had an Airborne daughter & Airborne son-in-law in Iraq! So, we truly care, and hope we can find as many gravestones of veterans as we can to put in Find A Grave so their great grand children will be able to honor them!

:)

Donald Starnes (Annex)
Robert,

I added the information that you sent about Mr. Starnes. A slight problem has arisen however. According the national VA grave locator, Mr. Starnes was in the US Air Force and served in Korea. There was no mention of his being in the US Navy. Please help me get this information correct and I thank you for your help.

All the best,
Beverly

RE: Koester and Griswold
Great! I've added all the photos for the Koester and Griswold families. There was a second Maragret Ebe Koester buried with the family. I'll create a memorial for her and add the photo. Are these family members to you? I'm happy to transfer that memorial after I create it!

Koester and Griswold
Hi Robert,

I was out at Druid Ridge in Pikesville, MD and photographed the Koester and Griswold families. You've already created the memorials. Is it ok for me to add the pictures? Just wanted to check in case you've already photographed them and just haven't had the time to upload the pictures. Let me know. Thanks!
