They say a picture is worth a thousand words was right. On my worst day going out and finding a headstone that someone has been looking for and finding it is a great feeling. Not only does it make me feel good but puts a smile on someone else's face. It's taken me over 40 years to find my father's side of my family again, I haven't stopped smiling. From a cousin that was my play mate when I was 7 to family in Italy the roads are endless...And from those roads a new life has begun. Though they may not be in the present they are holding our hand as we go down this new road guiding us through the turns of life.. NEVER STOP LOOKING... YOU CAN FIND THEM... sometimes they are just around the corner.|

Derden Cemetery in Hill County, Texas.
Find A Grave Memorial# 21641280
I found the marker on Find A Grave while searching for Lee Roy Day who died in California, I didn't know he was buried in Texas. The dates match on both Lee and Donia and I already had Fredonia Analithia Brannen-Day who died 8 Jul 1917 in Hill County, TX. I didn't know which cemetery it was though. Lee Roy Day was my great grandfather's brother.
Thanks, Hoyt Day

This relates to the status of the cemetery in Files Valley, TX. In the 1970s, a board was established to oversee maintenance of the cemetery. All of the board members are now deceased. In order to insure some level of maintenance going forward, a new board should be established. A meeting seems necessary to reestablish the board and the first group to make contact with, before going to the general population of the community, in my opinion, should be those FindAGrave Contributors who have shown an interest and demonstrated some effort to preserve the memory of those interred there. If you have experience in managing small cemeteries and/or the interest to participate in this process, please contact me via email at email@example.com.
Regards and thanks for all your work for FindAGrave.

I was in Liberty Grove and came across a headstone for Melisse buried in the grass. I uncovered it and took a photo of it the best I could.
