I was born in 1951, in Phoenix, AZ. I have been researching my family history since 1971. I have ten children and 22 grandchildren. We now live in Mesa, AZ.|
I've always loved cemeteries! There is such wonderful information on this website. I would be glad to help someone else in their search.
While researching some of my family history on this site, I found that someone had taken the time to add photos of obituaries to many of my relatives' memorials. This thoughtful act touched me. I have decided that to repay their kindness - I tried adding memorials for those found in online obituaries for the Arizona Republic, The East Valley Tribune, and the Apache Junction Gold Canyon News, but soon discovered that someone else was duplicating my entries! I then went to a nearby cemetery and took photos of some name plates and created memorials for them. I hope to continue to add memorials to this site.
If you are related to someone whose memorial I have created - I will be happy to transfer it to you - just let me know. If you find any error or omission in a memorial which I have entered, use the edit tab or contact me! Since I may only have had the obituary or the gravestone to go by, many times I do not have all of the information. If you have further information to add to a memorial, I will be happy to make changes.

You're welcome Claudia, and thank you too!

You are more than welcome. I will make a note to check her obit (if there is one) at the historical society in due time and see what it says.

Marlene asked my opinion on this, so may I chime in here? There is a Georgia Barrow Mitchell on Classmates.com who graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1963. I feel certain she's the daughter of George Vernon Barrow and Eva Thacker.

In answer to your message, I regret to say I am not from this area and do now know any of the Barron family. I have found a photo request at Russell Heights in Jackson, MO. for an Evelyn Barron and the Find A Grave manager is a Chad Kendell. I've written him and sent your message to him in hopes he may know something about the Barron family. I don't really have any suggestions that I think would help in your research. It does semm possible that Georgia is the daughter of George because of the names but that doesn't give you the proof you need. Sorry I couldn't help.

Claudia, I blew up the picture and turned it the right way so maybe that will help with the date. From the original it looks to me as...
Oct. 3, 1857??
Glad I could help! So sad that the cemetery is in such shambles but I had so much fun looking through it. It is the oldest cemetery in the area, and they are trying to restore the stones there. I might be able to go back and try to get a better date. Maybe try some things to brighten it up. If I do, Ill let you know!

If you don't mind, I would like to have the file transferred to me, since I am doing the genealogy of that family for my children.
Not sure what you need to have me do for this process. Let me know.
