Samuel G. Birdsall
It has been predicted, that in the future, we will be able to speak with those who have passed on and record our conversations.(I hope it is in my life time.) You will be able to ask him all you want to know. I firmly believe it will happen. Jane Vining

Samuel G. Birdsall
Brenton, the hard drive crashed in my computer and I am using a borrowed computer, so can't give you an e-mail. Have you tried looking thru the Dallas County, Iowa newspapers ? The Family History Library( has mircrofilmed from 1880-1921, articles on births, deaths, family reunions & etc. There is a chance you could find an obituary on him that gives the name of town in New York he came from and names his parents. Also, obits on his children may give clues. Someone named Susan "Sue" Mersereau(?) has pictues of Samuel & wife on ancestry. She doesn't give names of parents. Good Luck

RE: Kirtland cousin?
Brenton, Who wrote the Kirtland book in 1930 ? was it Charles Kirtland ?
I have spent years researching my Kirtland line, because it was such a confusing line. Many people have the line incorrect. Mary Kirtland has the same line that I do and she is a very good researcher. She has been researching all Kirtlands in America and her line. She has both on ancestry. Have you found her Kirtlands in America ? I first found many Kirtlands listed in the book: Descendants of Liet. William Pratt by F.W.Chapman, 1860. (Amazon was selling copies.) He stopped on my line at Ambrose Kirtland. I feel sure your line is in there. He submitted some of the Kirtlands to the New England Historical and Genelogical Society in 1860 in the Register.(online on their website) I think yours are in there. I also bought the book: The Vital Records of Colonial Saybrook. It is still available from the genealogy group in Saybrook. I think it cost $45. Jane Vining

Mary Jane Harrison
This stone is very hard to read, but I did the best I could to enhance the photo. I also checked the Avon listing and this is the only Mary Jane Harrison buried there - so I am sure this is the correct one. If you want, I can try to zero in on the name and writing on the upright portion of the stone.
