Keep hearing a voice that says,

"Grieve Not For Me"

Remember the best times, the laughter the songs,
The good life I lived where I was strong.

Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you
Keep smiling and surely the sun will
shine through

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest,
Remembering all now, I was truly blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small
Go on with your life, don't stare at the wall.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day comes, when we're together again.

RE: Plots for Sanche
Did you see the updated requests? They haven't updated the memorials with the complete plot location. I cancelled the old photo requests and requested new photo requests with the complete plot locations in the notes section of the request. Did you see them?

Plots: Main Mausoleum Unit 1, Alcove F, Private Rm 1, Couch Crypt #3 and #2

I hope this is all you need to find them. Thank you!

This guy Bryan Healy
Has turned into a rather annoying bother. He seems to target work acting as know all of religious order's nomenclature and order. I see he has been over using the edit feature. It is time to collectively notify FindaGrave Administration. I have asked him to try please and thank you, and not to made unilateral name decisions. Family has the prerogative. Thank you for our past work together

RE: Philip Margraff
For what it's worth, Philip Margraf's wife and widow was Martha E ?? Margraff per his Civil War pension file. When I saw that stone, I wanted to put up memorial for Martha, but I should read a bit more about her. If you want to do that, you're welcome to do that as well.

As to putting the Lincoln pardon story on his grave, I have some more documents to look at, but I will think about rewriting that. Maybe in a month or so, the documents I want are at the National Archives and it will take a trip there to read them. We are curious how and when they attempted the escape and how they got caught, was there a real court martial or a "drum head" court marital that sentenced him to execution. Some interest in his life after the War and him physical condition as reflected in his pension file.

Thanks for your interest and cooperation.

Best wishes Suzanne A

RE: Please...ENUF
Actually, it isn't allowed. Find-a-Grave thanked me for notifying them and changed about two dozen of your entries. I will continue to send them to them to change if you won't.

I don't understand why you get so upset when I submit an edit. Really, I don't. I appreciate when people submit corrections to me. I want the memorials to be correct. You get mad when I try to correct the spelling.

Philip Margraff
Thank you very much for posting that photo on the gravesite of Philip Margraff. My research arising out of a Michigan Univerity project showed that he and two others were convicted of desertion from the Union forces in the Civil War. The men were enlisted separately by recruiters in New York City, Philip was 20. After serving 9 months in the 5th NY Vol Inf. they believed their time was up, only to learn that the Army records showed that they had enlisted for 3 years or the duration of the War. The men were immediately transferred into the 146 NY Inf in 1863 and were then charged with and convicted of desertion under circumstances unknown. Philip's father, a German immigrant, pleaded for a pardon to his representative Charles Sumner who telegraphed Lincoln on the eve of Philip's execution saying that it was well established that some agressive New York City recruiters, paid by the man enlisted and more for a longer term, would misrepresent the enlistment contract to get the young men to sign. Lincoln deferred the execution and the men rejoined the 146th NY Inf. Philip served out his term and was discharged in Delaware in Aug. 1865. I was pleased to have the photo of the stone which is readable in the enlargement to document his survival. Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for the wonderful picture of my family's grave stone. It took me awhile to find out what cemetery they we're buried in and I learned new information from the grave stone.
