I'm Laura (Greening) Myers. I live in Baltimore, MD and have loved "grave stomping" for many years. One can often learn a lot about people by reading their stones. I was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. My family surnames - Paternal: Greening, Benedum, Hanes, Hetrick, Heffelfinger, Frase, Weygandt. Maternal: Coltrane, Hines, Bondurant, Hill, Price, Michell, Umbarger, and Gollehon. I am a Mayflower descendant, with three ancestors having signed the Mayflower Compact. Scottish, Irish and French on my mother's side and English, German and Swiss on my father's side. | |

HI, THE ONLY OTHER CHARLES BONDURANT THAT I FOUND IS A CHARLES V BONDURANT YOUR REQUEST IS FOR A CHARLES B BONDURANT. HE WAS A CHILD OF LAURA HAGGART BONDURANT AND ALBERT B BONDURANT, HE LIVED 1890-1893 AND HAD A SIBLING NAMED MAUDE L 1888-1903.

Hi Laura, my names Aimee. This was a difficult one to find. Nobody seemed to know where this cemetery was located. I finally spoke with a longtime member of the church and he told me where the cemetery is located. Sadly I was informed that when the state widened RT. 221 in Lynchburg the remains of 52 burials were exhumed, all Bondurants and Traylors and relocated about 5 miles across town and placed into three mass graves of Bondurants.

Hi,
I heard back from Oakwood today. David and Juanita Garrison are not buried there either. I bet they are at Oaklawn and the cemetery office just doesn't have it recorded correctly. I will always keep a look out when I am there.

I have a call in to Oakwood Cemetery in Concord where Juanita's father is buried. I asked if someone could check the records and see if Juanita and David are buried there, instead of Oaklawn. I will let you know what I find out. If they are there, I can try to plan a field trip soon to see if I can get photos.

You are welcome. I am descended from Melchior Stecher(5X great grandfather) and Matthias Stecher is my 4X great grandfather. I have enjoyed finding many of the Stechers at Forks and also in Harmony, N.J. where Matthias's son George moved. Are you related to the Stechers? My maiden name is spelled Stecker as George's son Daniel changed the H to a K in the name. | | | JLM
