Two of my favorite genealogy quotes are -
"Genealogy is not just a pastime; it's a passion." ~Mary Harrell-Sesniak~

"The best part about Genealogy is searching for ancestors and finding friends!"

If we have genealogical connections to the same memorial, I would be happy to exchange additional information.

My family surnames are: Hale with roots from Lewis Hale & Mary Burwell of Grayson Co., VA; Kincer with roots from Christopher Kincer & Nancy Kinser of Wythe Co., VA; Huddle with roots from Joseph Crockett Huddle
& Caroline Horne of Wythe Co., VA; Sult with roots from Stephen Wilkerson Sult & Mary "Mollie" Clark of Wythe Co., VA. Other family names are: James, Bell and Arney

My husband's family surnames are: Sheppard
with roots from George Sheppard & Elizabeth Harless of Montgomery Co., VA; Jones with roots from Winburn Othanile Jones & Fannie Lee Sheppard of Roanoke Co., VA; Furrow with roots from Washington Edward Furrow & Julia Ann Boothe of Roanoke Co., VA. Other family names are: Long, Linkous and Anderson.

I would be pleased if you would take a look at my parent's memorials and leave flowers -
Lee Hale and Louise Hale

If I have made any errors in any of my memorials, please let me know via the Suggest a Correction feature so I can correct them. Memorials are about remembering those who have passed away and doing the best we can at being accurate.

You put in for an edit about birth date? Was he not married?

OK, no problem!
I just saw one misspelled name, corrected that and since then I found - and corrected - some 3000 errors so that other people can find the memorials when they enter the right name.
I also found some 300 duplicate records, always suggesting to delete them whilst giving the number of the other memorial.
Thank you.
A wonderful site, Findagrave!

Thanks Sue, It is so fulfilling when a lost one is found. I have hooked up with Audrey Lerew on Findagrave and we go out together. We just finished walking Salem Union in Jacobus for any that are either not listed or need their pics. In between we are working Prospect Hill, trying to get that high number of requests down. We managed to find quite a few, but still have more to try to find.

Hi Sue, It was quite an undertaking. I have fastened a 6" nail onto a cane to look for covered stones when I go out to cemeteries. There are quite a few at Fairview I need to find and thought this might work. It only took a second when I started and I knew I hit metal. I was amazed that it was down about 3 inches. It was a little muddy and I did not have any water with me to try to get a better pic. I was really exceited how great this idea worked, glad I could help.

I left a message for each of your parents. You must resemble your Mother! A fine looking lady. Thanks for all your help and the great emails you share with me.

Your parents
I left flowers for them. They were about the same age as my parents.

Sorry I could not get a photo - I had a medical issue and never made it to the cemetery. I did post the location for another volunteer to use. Linda
