Kimes family
You have listed Kimes family homestead. Lewis R Kimes is buried at Falls City Cemetery. Kimes did not have a homestead. When Edna Kimes arrived in Oregon with her mother Nancy Kimes and her Grandmother Elizabeth Buckingham they settled in little place just outside of Yamhill, Oregon. Elizabeth owned land next to her son Hiram Buckingham. Nancy remarried to man who's last name was Ripley. Nancy and Ripley are buried in Dallas Oregon.
Lewis was born in Yamhill and went on to become a logger. He was working on his barn when he fall off the roof. The fall hurt his spine. He never worked in the woods again.

Hi Phil,
I wanted to tell you thanks and thanks again. My husband's mother was Ruth Damon Dieter. She was Daughter of Adelbert J. Damon, he was son of Willard Damon. We found your site and it has been a fountain of information. In fact, yesterday we drove by the 2325 S. Main St. looking for his great grandfather's house, but it was no longer there, condos were built. We have yet to visit the graves in the two cemeteries. We have to get some kind of map to locate them. Rather large cemetery.
Your information has been invaluable to us.

Vicki Dieter

RE: Maria Damon Marker Photo
When you go in the main entrance of the cemetery you will be going between two sections of cemeteries. Go down until the end of the cemetery on right side. Under a big tree about 50 feet in, is aproximately where the grave is located at. Good luck n have a great trip when you come out here. Maryjo
